We have been going to Cabo San Lucas and staying at Playa Grande for over 17 years and we always have wonderful service, the rooms are always clean and the food is great! They make you feel like you are the most important guest and will do anything to make your trip enjoyable! One year the staff dressed up as super hero’s for my sons birthday and came to the pool to surprise him with ice cream and to sing him happy birthday, we didn’t even ask them to do it they just knew it was his birthday and did it on their own!

I wasn't going to post a review on this place since I'm sure we won't be visiting again, but, I think I owe it to other travelers. We booked through booking.com, because I didn't realize you could book through the resort without being an owner. When we arrived to claim our two master suites, we were told they were not available due to over booking, therefore, they were UPGRADING us to a two bedroom penthouse, so we could all stay together. That was not our plan. The unit was very large with three bedrooms, but, required going up and down a ramp to gain access. This was not good for my mother-in-law, as I had already told them. We made it work because it was truly huge with an excellent view of the marina. This resort is absolutely in the best location being close to everything, which, I'm sure is why it's always so busy. The check-in experience is a nightmare, as we also discovered in speaking with others. It was also lacking on cleanliness in the pool area and the floors in the unit were never cleaned all the way - just wiped off. We love Cabo and will return again and again, hopefully, our timeshare up the road with be finished in a month or so, so we can visit there next time.

This was a very nice resort- scrupulously clean and very well maintained. my only complaint is they kept trying to sell us dinners and time shares. The location was great- just across from the harbor and convenient to lots of things to do. The pools were very nice, though there was only one pool the kids could go to- and you couldn't watch for whales and your kids at the same time. There was at least one other pool on the solmar (sister) resort for kids but it was a long ways away. My kids loved the slide at the pool, but there are tons of hills and stairs to walk to get up to the pool, down to your room, etc. Fine for us, but possibly difficult for some folks

My dad owns a timeshare on The Ridge and this year marked my third fantastic visit here. My sister and I are in our twenties and while the crowd at the ridge is on the older end, we still have a great time. In the mornings we lay out at the infinity pool with happy hour beverages courtesy of the friendly, fun and personable Hector (pictured below). In the afternoon we head downstairs where there are daily games (not saturdays) and a younger scene. It’s my favorite week of the year, hands down! I highly recommend Playa Grande for its staff, incredible location, limitless luxurious pools and unparalleled amenities. Tips: - There is a ramp behind the water slide pool that leads you to an elevator that gives you easy access to downtown (ask a member of the staff to show you). Elevator locks at 11pm just FYI. - Tip your bartender and waiter generously in the beginning of the week and you’ll be well taken care of! - If you’re in a one bedroom unit, take the cot mattress and lay it on top on the Murphy Bed for a more comfortable nights sleep. - Thursday through Saturday are the best nights to go out downtown. As far as the other nights just save your money. - When you’re walking outside the resort watch out for holes, they’re everywhere! -When coming from the airport stop at the selecto instead of Walmart for a way better selection (and to support a Mexican company) -Bring a plastic tumbler cup with a cap so you can bring the orange juice ;) from your room into the poolside area. - The sushi in the downstairs resort is bangin (cosmo role). - Make use of the fitness center it’s well stocked and you’ll thank yourself next week (gets busy around 9am) Salut! Muchas Gracias Playa Grande!!

We got moved to this resort by the Solmar Resort. They said we'd hate our rooms. They upgraded us to a presidential suite. Sounds great right? The suite was so far from the lobby. Up and down elevators and hills to get to the suite. Got there and it smelled of cigarette smoke. Then they made us move to another room the next morning. We had to pack up everything and take our valuables with us when we went on our boat tours. Our things were supposed to be moved to the new room at noon. We get there at 1pm and our things had not been moved and we couldn't go to our new suite. We had to lug all our valuables around the resort with us. We went to the pool to wait for the room to be ready. When they finally brought us our keys they refused to give us towels to dry off. We didn't have the towel keys that you have to put a $20 deposit on each. So here we are dripping wet and embarrassed in front of all the other guests. We had to hike back to the lobby dripping wet to find out what those towel cards were. And to top it all off, when they switched our hotel we lost an ocean front room to a marina view room. THE WHOLE REASON I PICKED SOLMAR RESORT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE OCEAN. I know that it wasn't as nice as this resort. But I didn't care. I wanted the ocean! NEVER going back.
