Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Spa in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Adorned with contemporary design and tropical overtones, Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Spa is a deluxe Mexico retreat with an envious beachfront locale. The residential-style villa suites, which offer studio spaces or multi-bedroom adobes, feature convenient kitchens, sleek marble floors, warm wood tones and garden view or ocean-facing balconies. The property, laced with leafy palms and resonating with the sound of trickling fountains and waterfalls, is a peaceful oasis for the entire family. Allow the concierge to anticipate your pre-arrival needs by stocking the pantry with all of your favorites, or arranging for the chef to prepare an in-suite meal as part of a special celebration.

The resort sits on the sands of El Medano Beach in view of the famed El Arco rock formations, where the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez collide. Reserve a table at La Perla Restaurant, where the seaside views are as tantalizing as the meal itself. For those who enjoy the buzz of conversation and laughter, El Faro Restaurant has an oyster, sushi and tequila bar, and is the place to be. The Buccaneer is a pirate-themed bar offering refreshing cocktails and a casual meal of burgers and wraps. The resort's full-service spa is nothing short of spectacular, and is designed to re-energize and rejuvenate muscles and pressure points. Activity options range from pool volleyball and off-site angling to nearby golfing and horseback riding. A perfect tropical paradise waits adjacent to meticulously groomed, white sand beaches at Villa del Arco Resort & Spa.

We returned home a week ago from an 11-night stay in Cabo San Lucas at Villa del Arco. This hotel is beautiful and has an incredible, friendly staff. We were all-inclusive guests which worked well for us. Villa del Arco sits on the same property as her sister properties, Villa del Palmar and Villa del Estancia (Villa del Arco is the newest and nicest of the 3). There is a trolly that arrives in the front of Villa del Arco every 3-5 minutes that runs to Villa del Palmar — this was incredibly convenient as Villa del Palmar has a grocery store, deli and ice cream shop. The All-inclusive package allows you to eat at any of the restaurants on any of the three properties, but the restaurants at Villa del Estancia (La Casona and La Parilla) are not included but are available to all-inclusive guests at 40% off. Because these properties are timeshare properties, their All-inclusive package is different than others we’ve experienced. Most people don’t do all-inclusive, especially if they own a timeshare and plan to stay at the property for 4-6 weeks at a time (makes sense). I’ve included photos of all of the paperwork we received upon check-in describing the All-inclusive package in detail. Here are the basics: premium liquor is not included (there is a list of liquor included in the paperwork), there are premium items on all restaurant menus (including room service) that are not included but are available to purchase for 40% off, purchases at the grocery store, deli, spa, ice cream shop, honor bar (mini bar), laundry, transportation, phone services and WiFi are NOT included and are NOT available at a discount — you’ll be paying full price for these items. OF NOTE: If you are all-inclusive, understand that at the end of each meal service or drink service you order, you’ll need to sign a bill. The bill will be listed in USD and will include an opportunity to tip. It’s a bit of a surprise to see a bill for $90 USD at the end of your meal if you’re all inclusive, but you are not charged these costs unless you purchased a premium item. We always tipped in cash, so we just signed each check and that was that. The two of us stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was amazing. The room sleeps four and contains a full kitchen (including silverware, dishes, and cookware). We had two full bathrooms, a jacuzzi tub and an enormous outdoor area that included two lounge chairs and a dining area for 4. We also had a stacked washer/dryer. It was just like we had our own apartment in Cabo during our stay. Even though we noted in our reservation for an ocean-front view, we didn’t get it. This property prioritizes its timeshare members and gives those people the best rooms first. On our second day of our trip, a room with a partial ocean view became available, and we were asked if we’d like to move for a fee of $120 USD/day. We declined since that’s quite the cost for just a view and we were already very comfortable in our own room. Even though our room was on the west side of the property, we could still see some of the water/mountains. It worked out well for us and we would do the same next time we visit. One disappointment regarding this property is the cost of WiFi. WiFi is only available to timeshare members for free. For anyone else, including all-inclusive guests, it’s $10 USD PER DAY, PER DEVICE. That is insane, especially when you’re from the US and WiFi is available virtually anywhere for free. We spent about $230 just in WiFi fees. A very special thank you to the following staff members: - CELINA, Concierge: Celina was our concierge for the duration of our stay and helped us truly feel at home. She assisted with reservations, directions, and was able to answer all of our questions about the hotel, the all-inclusive program and Los Cabos. It was great getting to know her — she is a true asset to this team and we look forward to seeing her again when we return next year! - RACIEL, Poolside waiter: During our days by the pool, we chose to sit in Raciel’s section as he is an incredibly attentive waiter. We never had to ask for more drinks, we always had a menu if we chose to order food and he made sure we were as comfortable as possible. We appreciate Raciel’s friendliness and attention to detail. - JUAN, Poolside staff: Juan isn’t a waiter, but he is poolside staff that always made sure we had an umbrella. Juan would greet us almost immediately as we arrived to ask if we wanted one and found a way to get one over to us even if most were unavailable. While that contribution to our vacation may seem small, we absolutely appreciate every detail of our comfort no matter how big or small. Juan made our vacation that much better! Thank you so much to EVERYONE at Villa del Arco. We will be returning for years to come. See you soon! Best, - Jacob and Domingo

We were on vacation and took advantage of the pool for several days, one waiter in particular stood out, Javier Arellano, we sat in his section several times, on purpose to be exact, he went above and beyond everyday. This waiter dersrves one hell of a pat on the back and huge recognition! We will be coming back in July and we look forward to him serving us again!

To start off with, I just want to tell you that the resort is beautiful!! I cannot say enough. My wife and I stayed for 6 nights for our honeymoon. The Spa is amazing, the food is great everywhere that we ate. We liked the place so much that we decided to do the timeshare presentation. We were lucky to have Ian Dovey as our guide for the presentation. Ian was very helpful and a very positive and energetic employee. We even got the chance to spend some time in downtown Cabo thanks to Ian and his hospitality. It was thanks to Ian Dovey and Carl Brusca that we made the hands down decision to purchase a timeshare with this great company. If you are looking for a place to take great pictures, enjoy the nightlife and meet people, this is the place for you!!! I highly recommend the trip and will definitely be spending another week here soon!!

Avoid at all costs. We arranged for 10 family members to visit and Lidia tropical storm hit. Even though the hotel was not accessible and they had no power they would not give us a full refund. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
