Reviews for Hilton Cairns
I have stayed at many Hilton hotels around the world, and I have never been disappointed. Unfortunately this property, considering it prime position, is way behind in standard. We stayed for 4 nights and encountered the following issues. 1. WiFi was so bad it is basically unusable. Could not connect for most of the stay. The few times we connected, it would stop working a few minutes later. ( this is a long term issue) 2. The air conditioner has a preset temperature that is to high. You can set the thermostat to zero and nothing changes. You then wake up in the middle of the night sweating. 3. The hairdryer did not work. 4. The iron did not work. 5. The fridge desperately needed defrosting. It had so much ice you could not close the door. The staff tried to tell me they defrost them after every stay. I’m not convince that is what happened with my fridge. 6. For the first 2 days we could not get housekeeping to service our room. Both days they would say that we left the DND sign on the door. Both times this was not the case as the DND sign was on the desk inside the room. On the positive side, I must commend the staff for trying their best to provide solutions to the multiple issues. After reading the other reviews, the WiFi issues have been going on for a long time. As for the rest of the issues, my only conclusion is that there is a lack of quality control and that it’s a miss managed property. This is not a well managed property.

Very disappointed. Found only one staff member friendly Other staff members abrupt. While checking out staff member took a phone call and handed us our reciept while continuing her phone call. Tjere was no "I hope you enjoyed your stay". They just didn't care. Advertised free interenet..guess what? No internet. So many conflicting excuses. Will we stay there again? Definately not. Will I recommend? DEFINATELY NOT.

My husband and I stayed in this well located (just near the main street near the harbor) hotel for 4 nights and were very satisfied with the very proffesional work of staff in the reception and big variety of the deliciuos meal at breakfast. The room: tidy, big enought, comfortable beds, but during our stay it was quite noisy during weekdays as a new buiding was constructed in front of windows.

This was possibly our favourite hotel from our recent travels to the Far East and Australasia. Located close to the ferry terminal, and just a 20 minute drive from the airport, we were warmly received by the friendly and highly efficient receptionist who checked us in and took time to point out some of the areas amenities. In addition, we were offered an upgrade which, for an additional $20 per night, gave us access to an executive lounge where we could get a continental breakfast in the morning and canapés and drinks in the evening. Within an hour of arriving, my wife badly cut her foot after accidentally knocking a glass over in the room and the response of the hotel staff was superb. As well as providing first aid, they assisted us get her to a local medical centre and provided us with a complimentary bottle of cava on our return. Our room was immaculate and afforded a wonderful view across the harbour. We simply couldn’t find fault with our stay here and would highly recommend it.

A beach hotel design, with good size rooms. Also in very good location on the edge of city center. The executive lounge provide a good variety of wine and great to see bats flying. Breakfast is very very simple.
