We chose Solage expecting the refined, anticipatory service typically associated with an Auberge property, particularly given its positioning as a luxury wellness resort. Unfortunately, the experience did not consistently meet that expectation. Across multiple touchpoints, the level of polish, professionalism, and operational discipline felt lacking, from unrefined guest interactions to missing basic amenities and service that felt more performative than guest-focused. For context, we often stay at Indian Springs during the cooler months, which is a 3-minute drive from Solage. While it is not positioned as a luxury resort, it consistently delivers a high-quality experience and feels honest about what it is. For comparable room types on the same weekend, Solage is priced roughly 15 to 20 percent higher, yet for us, that premium did not translate into a meaningfully better experience. In contrast, Solage currently feels as though it is masquerading as an Auberge-level experience without reliably delivering the service standards, polish, or operational consistency that such positioning implies. This could be a very special property with stronger leadership, training, and attention to detail, but at present the experience does not align with the brand promise.

The stay overall was amazing. The staff was very attentive and kind. The moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and taken care of. Everyone from valet to the turn down service team was incredible. We enjoyed every single meal on property as well. Pico bar was the perfect spot for lunch after traveling all day and Solbar was amazing for dinner and breakfast. Every detail was paid attention to and we were wished a congratulations by every team member we encountered for being on our honeymoon. The rooms were clean and turndown service was provided each night. The team also left us a sweet note with a bottle of wine for our celebration. The spa was also a highlight for their mudslide treatments. Our final note would be around the notable customer service at the property, overall, with drivers who take you to nearby reservations and a valet team that delivers your car and your belongings to your room. Everything at the property was well managed and you could tell communication flowed well from front of house to back.

Incredible experience! Thank you so much to all the incredible staff at the Solage. The spa was delightful, the food was incredible, but most importantly the staff went above and beyond

This was maybe our 4th or 5th time staying here (our home away from home), and this time we splurged a bit and booked the Silverado suite and stayed for three nights with our large dog and his equally large sister who we are watching over the holidays. The entire resort is very dog-friendly but it was nice having our own private hot tub in the backyard too so we can hang out with the pups while we relax. The room came with two large dog beds as we requested, treats, four food/water bowls, and even matching bandanas with their names embroidered on them, which was such a nice gift. We dined at the restaurant (Solbar) for two nights and the service was friendly and professional and the food was excellent as always. We got the “canned” tuna and the pretzel + caviar as appetizers. Highly recommend both, along with the Japanese style cod they always have on the menu that we always get. We also went to Truss at the Four Seasons across the street for one dinner but were disappointed in both the service and the food, especially compared to when we went there first a few years ago (we read the chef had left). We were able to leave the dogs in the room for dinner, which was great because it was raining for most of our stay and we wouldn’t have been able to dine outside with them. If you’re staying in Calistoga this is the best place, dog or no dog.
