The overall feel and experience of this Melia hotel is very inviting and worth paying the extra to stay here. From arrival to departure staff are willing to look after guests offering great service. Our room was the same size as a small apartment!

Let me start this by say I’m a returning guest currently residing in Gran Melia Palacio De Isora. Having stayed previously in Peak season back in July 2017. While then we had a couple of issues the facilities and staff 99% of the time get it right hence the return This visit as per before we booked via TUI as a package , flights all OK but the baggage collection took almost 2 hrs . It was past 6 by the time we arrived at the hotel We went to our room , while we paid for a basic double deluxe , I would compare it to a cave . It gets zero sunlight due to the garden plantation . It is constantly dark . Not great but since we paid reasonable money and always venture out the hotel and see the sights not the end of the world. As per our previous visits the age of the building is starting to show , vanity units battered and bruised , corners chipped or missing, cracked floor tiles etc . Please do not expect as new or perfection as this hotel will not give this . Room 2081 which we are currently staying in does not even have a correctly working lockable Terrance door as the door has dropped in the frame The general cleanliness is average , we had someone else’s rubbish in the bathroom bin on our arrival, floors being tiled are never spotless and expect moths or cockroaches - to be fair we’ve had more moths than usual and had a few roaches appear to fall out the ventilation grill in the ceiling During our visit , we’ve had a few issues Waiters that clean and don’t serve drinks . Don’t reply to any eye contact Family’s with young children are hearded like animals into corners of restaurants . I find this disgusting and I pulled restaurant managers who told me this was not the case . It’s clear when you look . This hotel is either family or adult only - it should not be sold as both Bathroom toiletries never replenished . They take the empty box of paper tissue but don’t replace ? My wife also had loose change removed from her pockets by house keeping , while it was only 8 Euros . The goods in your room should be safe and secure regardless of whether they are locked in the safe . The hotel does not warrant its 5 star rating , the fixtures and fittings are shabby , the service is 50/50 , when you complain you are simply ignored . The point of having managers is to resolve issues , a manager like Marcos is a hinderance rather than a benefit Other staff such as Marie should be praised , there are some that just do the job for the money while others enjoy get the benefits of speech and being helpful and kind It’s not all bad but on two visits we have been let down , for us as a family I would not entertain a third visit

We are correctly here enjoying the facilities. The hotel is really nice well maintained gardens and facilities. There are 3 pools. Adults only , red area only available to customers paying the extra x the red area and the amazing infinity pool. One of the biggest in Europe?! It’s so vast and doesn’t feel too crowded. The staff from the moment we arrived have been great, so welcoming and polite, greeting you everyday as you are their best friends. We book all inclusive package from the uk as Sensatori. Paying extra £ 230 for room upgrade sea view and extra £518 for the board upgrade. The board upgrades gives you a silver plus bracelet with extra drinks included not only during the meal service. However there is a list of drinks included and not everything is free. As example. G&t ok with standard tonic is ok but extra with a Premium brand tonic water. Other drinks encounter extra charge so check your list beforehand otherwise you will be charged. The hotel offers the above silver bracelet beverage backage upgrade in resort x €35 x person a day which is cheaper that booking with the tour operator in advance. We booked all the extra as nice not to have to think how much things are while on holiday. Unfortunately it isn’t the case here. There is a choice of a Buffett restaurant x breakfast/lunch/dinner. Massive choice of food. Oasis restaurant x lunch and dinner and club ocean Italian x dinner. These 2 need to be booked in advance, food is nice and again the service and staff are super. Also available is the market grill pool side x lunch. All part of the full board or all inclusive. More restaurants are available Nami Japanese, Duo fine dining, duo tapas, fish market,la terrace These are all chargeable however 30% off your bill. Room is spacious and comfortable however looking a bit tired. Scratched furniture/ cracked bath panel a bit disappointed as probably my expectations were too high for the Sensatori brand reputation. A credit of € 20 max 3 times if no cleaning required. Can use that x spa or drinks if not all inclusive. Around the pool there are some Balinese beds all at extra charge. The prices vary depend on the location around the pool and extra x drinks. We are having a great time however for the money we paid £2269.54 x a week x 2 people feeling a bit disappointed and annoyed with the hotel policy of grabbing as much extra as possible from customers. Feeling like on a Ryanair flight with all the extras...... All inclusive should be as it says. No extra charge if I need a bottle of water in my room from room service but free if I get it from the bar, being able to order any drinks from the bar as paid for the extra package and not only those on your list. Either you offer all inclusive or not. As said we love it here but would not return as not enjoying all the extras policy. Again staff are amazing.....

I’ve reviewed the hotel in the past and we are currently staying here - it is our seventh visit so we do like it and will definitely be back. This review is exclusively for the Club Ocean Restaurant. When I reviewed the hotel previously a couple of years ago, I was none too complimentary about Club Ocean. The food was poor, inevitably lukewarm and pretty bland and tasteless. In recent visits it improved substantially and talking with some of the staff it was acknowledged this was badly needed. Good news and we thought the problems had been solved. Last evening, we managed to book (which sometimes can be a problem due to it’s popularity) and looked forward to some good food. Unfortunately not so. My wife ordered Arancini for starters. When she cut into it it was actually frozen solid in the middle. Sorry, but with something as basic a dish as this, it is absolutely unforgivable for a restaurant to make a mistake like this. Main course, we ordered Spaghetti with prawns and garlic. We asked for some chilli to be added to spice this up. When it arrived, it was lukewarm, lacked both flavour and heat which the chilli should have provided. Worse though, the prawns were over cooked and like bullets. We both sent it back barely touched. We finished with the Tiramasu and frankly, no Italian restaurant of any note would serve it in this fashion. The sponge was dry, lacked Marsala wine and we weren’t sure where the coffee had gone. These are Italian restaurant staples and shouldn’t cause a problem. Being situated on the Plaza, it’s very popular but on current food quality at the moment it doesn’t deserve to be so. Location of the kitchen doesn’t help because food has quite a journey to make before it actually gets to your table. If it was my hotel, I’d be moving the champagne bar and replacing it with an open kitchen. Less distance for the waiters to travel, food served hot and a great atmosphere. I’d also introduce a curfew for small children and prams (say 8pm). The staff are excellent and were genuinely upset at the problems. Food in the rest of the hotel is good, so I can’t understand why Club Ocean has a problem but it definitely needs improving quickly.

if by chance you are reading this review, then let me advise you that if you book this hotel you won`t be disappointed - the quiet location and the hotel itself, along with its staff and management make this a perfect resort - it is not too expensive to go to the tourist areas. I finally found another GEM of a hotel
