Although a lovely hotel and great architecture and design, the hotel is let down by its restaurants and especially the buffet restaurant (food was often cold). There are also 2 levels of guests which I was not aware of when booking the hotel. I felt like a second class citizen at times. Had an issue with items l we left behind on departure. Sadly the hotel have not been able to resolve it which I am very surprised considering it is supposed to be a 5 star hotel

I booked this directly with the hotel as a Melia customer. Reading the other reviews I think this made a difference. I had a great time. It is a large resort hotel and runs accordingly so would not be suitable if you want very specific service. It provides value for money if you take advantage of the pools; the daytime activities; the night-time entertainment, and so on. Good points: - Room was fabulous, very nicely furnished, large bathroom and balcony; cleaned thoroughly, Clarins toiletries topped up every day, etc. - Gym and day time activities - proper aqua aerobics class, proper Zumba class. Gym has ok equipment but it needs maintenance. - I had two treatments in the spa and both were good quality. - Music and entertainment in the evenings. Room for Improvement: - Food. Very variable quality and the area of the hotel that needs most change. - Breakfast buffet is pretty good but you need to avoid peak times because there are rather too many people to be comfortable. - The Fish restaurant in the evening was good. - The BBQ restaurant was a bit dull. - I did not use any other restaurants because they insist you book in advance and I did not want to. (I made my two reservations at the concierge desk; did not use any machines referred to by other reviewers). - I ate out in Alcala all the other nights - at a tapas bar, two restaurants, a pizzeria. Very tasty and casual and easy.

Stayed at the Sensatori Tenerife 3 times now, 2014, 2015 and 2016. We absolutely loved the hotel. My sister, my dad and I the first time we went travelled into Tenerife South from London Stanstead. The flight took about 4 hours which is not that far for a weeks holiday. Upon arrival at the airport we got greeted by a Thompson coach. It was very pleasant and took us right to the hotel, not that many stops and fairly quick. Upon arrival at the hotel we got welcomed with a glass of non- alcholic fresh squash, which was very refreshing( would not have mind if a shot of vodka had been added). Then checking in couldnt have been easier, bags were taken straight to the room and we got our key cards. By the way reception view is incredible, looking straight down you can see the sea. Rooms were very clean and very modern. Lovely double sanity in the bathroom and lovely spacious shower with rain head. We then went for our first lunch, sizzling garlic prawns got brought out, they smelt absolutely incredible. Then a lovely Pesto pasta and to finish off some refreshing lemon sorbet. All was included in our Full Board price. Time to relax by the 250m Pool, it was very quiet and peaceful. Just the noice of the birds chirping. Poolside service drinks could be ordered, very reasonable priced. Day flew by relaxing by the pool, whilst i went and played football, tennis, table tennis with friends i had met out there. The sports facilities are great. Evening meal was delicious with great service all round, then to finish off the day, around the big fire pit in some art deco chairs playing cards with the family.

This was our second experience here. Once again it met all of our expectations and would have no hesitation to come back again when the English summer has finished. If I had to make one small criticism, it would be that the beach bar/restaurant is a bit understaffed and service can be a bit slow. You won’t be disappointed if you come to this hotel.

We have stayed at the Red Level previously which was very good and mainly the reason we returned with our 10 week old baby. The service in the hotel is still very good but nowhere near the Red Level. We booked a double room, they are all the same sort of layout and nice inside. We found that we had been given a twin bed which had a gap down the middle, I complained and it was replaced with a double mattress but this was well worn and lumpy, not great. The air conditioning in our room was not very effective and rattled. Bathroom large and spacious, all good except shower can leak a little but otherwise good. We found the light switches in the room an absolute nightmare to work out. Room equipped with everything you need, kettle, tea/coffee etc....iron, safe, minibar. We used the family pool most as the infinity pool was too cold, family pool warmer but very busy, we used the balibeds as well, they are great especially when you have little ones. Breakfast was ok at the buffet just have to avoid busy period, coffee at the tables is absolute sludge and not recommended. Dinner at the buffet bit hit and miss, not really to our liking. We much preferred eating at Club Ocean (Italian) Oasis Pool Grille (Mediterranean) Nami (Japanese) and Market grill. Drinks are expensive unless you get a wristband which we did, though when I ordered a mojito they served it different when you had a wristband than if you were paying separately which is very naughty in my opinion. Overall the hotel and service is very good, though for the prices they are charging it should be outstanding and its not, the Red Level however is.
