Usually huge conference hotels lack character, but this one certainly has soul. Great staff and a view that warms your heart - even if you can't avail of all the resort obviously has to offer. Huge room, good bathroom and great view - shame I was working rather than being able to enjoy it fully

Overall, this is a good hotel. We took it because it was close to the ferry terminal to Isla Mujeres. We didn't go to the pool or used any other facilities. We were upgraded to a suite, and the room was very nice with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Only downside was that when we returned to our room in the evening, we found ants all around it. When we called the reception, they have called someone to check it, and she started spraying the room while we were still in it. Only after talking to the reception again they moved us to another room. I would expect a 5 stars hotel to be more clean than this and not having ants in its rooms.

This hotel somehow seems to envelope itself in quiet right in the midst of the Cancun bustle which can be a lovely oasis to the ears. It has a private beach and privacy is respected. The place has a more 'resort' feel to it and the pictures of the grounds does seem to support this perception. It is not an 'all inclusive' place. I love the rooms and the quiet which is why I come here for a dose of indulgence. The beds are wonderful! I don't think I have ever sat on the couches but I like how they add depth and color to the room. I have been twice here and am always happily impressed with the cleaning personnel and their dedication. I love the entrance and lobby, its space and subdued tone. Did I say I love the rooms?

We stayed at this property June 7-12, it was a change from our usual stay in Cancun. We travel to Cancun or Riviera Maya every year and it is my 17th time coming, the last 4 years we stayed at a Paradisus property, 3x at La Esmerelda and last year at Paradisus Cancun. The last time we went we didn't have a good experiece and it turned us off on the company. So this year we decided to try something new and chose Grand Fiesta Coral Beach and specifically wanted to do something that wasn't all inclusive. This property is beautiful! We had a wonderful stay! I was able to reach out to the concierge prior and let them know my daughter was having a birthday coming up and they sent us an email asking her fav flavor of cake, color and age. The first night we stayed we came back from dinner and there was wonderful surprise with balloons waiting for her! The resort had these AMAZING floral arrangement in the lobby. We were lucky when we went - there wasn't a lot of people so the pools were empty and there was plenty of room. I do wish there were a bit more pool activities, if there were they didn't announce it. But I did enjoy a stretching class one morning. The breakfast buffet was awesome, I only wish I was hungrier sometimes bc I didn't want to stop eating! The hotel is located in the perfect area, close to the party zone if that's what you want and close to this amazing grocery store, they had incredible ceviche there! We went there for lunch some days. Checking in took a bit longer than expected and I'm never crazy about anyone offering us a short "sales" meeting but we declined and that was that, they didn't ask again. I agree with some of the other posts regarding the resort fee, we paid it willingly bc I needed the use of the gym and wanted the extra water.. etc.. but the snacks around the pool didn't come often enough to offset the cost and they didn't check to see if you paid the fee or not so everyone got them and by the time the tray went around it was empty- but that didn't bother me much. The kids club was perfect for our children 8,9 years old. They met some friends and they have organized events which keeps them active, other clubs are ok with the kids just sitting in front of a computer screen, here the kids zone offers a lot of fun options. What also sets them apart above and beyond was as soon as we got to the airport to head back home, I realized I had forgotten a jacket and sweater in the closet, there was no time to head back and retrieve them so we called the hotel, and I really expected them to say they couldn't find it or there was nothing we could do about it. I was wrong... they located the items and I worked with the concierge to send them back to me! We just got them and I am so grateful! All in all we love this place and We are already planning our trip back and this will be our hotel of choice!

Great location and beautiful, private beach. the Lobby is old and smells musky. The food is way over-priced for Mexico and there is a 20 pesos service to bring the food to the pool area or beach. The check in process went smoothly and even though we arrived at 10 am they checked us into a poolside room with a partial view of the ocean. There was blood on the shower curtain and we called and they came and cleaned it right away but why wasn't it cleaned in the first place? It was the first thing we saw in the bathroom. Due to this mishap they upgraded us to an ocean view room on the 11th floor with a wall to ceiling view. It was really nice. The rooms are good and spacious nothing special. The beach was beautiful and private but the resort itself was boring. No activities, nothing fun so we left and ventured out for fun. The staff was accommodating but not friendly at all and it often seemed as if we were being watched all the time. Not a good feeling while on vacation so back off security and stop being so conspicuous. The Spa is the best thing about the hotel - it is amazing. I loved the location and that's why I selected this hotel but I will not be back. Heading to the RIU or Dreams up the street with an ALL Inclusive option and activities galore. There is also an $25 per day resort fee for in-room water & wifi.
