This is my second time going. First time was with my parents and husband. Current visit- we came with friends for a bachelorette. I absolutely love this place. The pools are great and spacious. It is beach front with clear blue waters. The restaurants are amazing. All the staff are amazing and go above and beyond. In this trip- I remember Martha in Isla Contoy was excellent. our experience in Chianti (Italian restaurant) with our waiters Elices and Jennifer went above and beyond. They asked the violinist to play songs at our request for our friend got to meet the Chef Pablo- who congratulated us and made good food. In chianti- order the salmon. I also love the beach front restaurant Nah Kaax- food and views are amazing- order the shrimp tacos or el molcajate. The Joya restaurant is authentic- amazing barbacoa tacos and mole in pork- one of the best mole in porks I have had.

Rooms, service, and food are always excellent. We’ve stayed at this resort at least five times, and it consistently meets our expectations. We especially want to recognize Chantal Acevedo, who took care of us at the beach area. She is the best—very professional, polite, and attentive. We actually look for her each time to see which area she’s working in. She truly deserves the highest recognition. The only downside during this stay was the beach area. There was a lack of privacy, as many locals were using the resort premises, which made us feel a bit uncomfortable and, at one point, unsafe enough that we had to move. Other than that, we were very happy with our stay and will continue coming back.

The experience was amazing! Very great service by everyone at the restaurant and the food was delicious. Every course was better than the previous one!! MOLD, IMPROPER MAINTENANCE , AND A GM WHO WON’T FACE YOU — DO NOT STAY HERE

This was the worst resort experience we’ve ever had, and the stakes couldn’t have been higher: we booked a three-week stay in Cancun for my wife’s cancer treatment. We traveled with our baby daughter. What we got was a health hazard and management that did everything possible to avoid accountability. Room 1: Within five minutes of arrival, the toilet flooded the bathroom and soaked our belongings. Room 2: By week two, there was visible mold growing on our suitcases and on our baby stroller (a $1,500 piece of equipment). We had to throw away everything we brought with us. Our daughter had been sick for days with respiratory issues — issues that cleared up once we got her out of that room. You don’t need a doctor to connect those dots. When I reported the mold, the concierge and 3 managers offered to “clean” it. You do not clean mold — you remediate the source, and you certainly don’t leave a cancer patient and an infant in the room while you try. Management then tried to blame us, claiming the mold appeared because we had turned the air conditioning off. This is a flat-out lie. I spent roughly 70% of every day in that room with our baby daughter, who needed the room cold to nap. The AC was set when we arrived and it never got touched again — not once. Trying to pin a mold problem on the guests is a telling move: it tells you this isn’t the first time they’ve had to explain it. I asked to be moved and was told the resort was at 100% capacity. Only after I said we were leaving for another hotel did a room miraculously appear two minutes later. We moved, stored our contaminated belongings away from our new room, and waited to speak with the general manager, who we were told was the only person authorized to approve reimbursement. He never spoke to us. Not once. After everything — a sick wife, a sick child, destroyed luggage, a destroyed stroller, two unusable rooms — the only thing offered was an apology from a subordinate. If you are traveling for medical reasons, with children, with anyone immunocompromised, or honestly with anyone who breathes air: stay somewhere else. This property has a mold problem, a plumbing problem, and a leadership problem, and they will make all three of them yours.

This hotel is luxurious and beautiful! The staff was always gracious and helpful and encouraged my attempts at speaking Spanish! :) The fresh flowers were lovely, the pool was marvelous, and the food for our conference was scrumptious!
