My family (myself, husband, and 2 kids - ages 7 and 9) had a wonderful stay at Fiesta Americana Grande Coral Beach! We were there last week, for spring break. It was our first trip to Cancun, and we enjoyed it so much. The resort is beautiful -- lovely pools with swim-up bars, very good restaurants, and terrific service. Some reviewers have commented on aspects of the resort being outdated. I think the breakfast buffet restaurant (Vina del Mar) could use some updates, but it may be that they're going for a more rustic/traditional style with the decor there. The majority of the resort is more upscale and modern in appearance. The beach area is picture-perfect, a long stretch of soft white sand, clear, calm turquoise waters, and plenty of chairs to sit on. Although we were there during a busy week, and the hotel was pretty full, it never felt crowded at all due to the large size of the resort and many staff. There is a nice, large grocery store ("Selecto") a very short walk across the street from the resort. We bought more sunscreen and some snacks there one day. There are also many shops near the resort/grocery store area where you can buy souvenirs. We booked our trip through Costco, and it was a great experience. Our room was a "master suite" with one king bed, and it was large enough to bring in 2 rolling beds for our kids. The mattresses were very comfortable, and we all slept well. There was a small common area/living room with an L-shaped couch, TV, desk, and table with 3 chairs. We had a large deck with a gorgeous view of the Caribbean beach. Through Costco, we received a special "passport" containing coupons upon check-in. The kids also each received a passport with coupons and admission to the Coral Kidz Club. There is a new indoor water park that will be opening soon inside the Kidz Club, too, so they look forward to trying that out in the future. Although my kids only spent a few minutes touring the kids club (they wanted to spend their time outside at the pools and beach), we were impressed with it. We dined at all of the restaurants except Le Basilic, which does not allow children. I plan to eat there the next time we visit! All of the other restaurants were great. Kids' meals from the special kids' menu were free (one per adult meal) at the restaurants inside the resort and when you order lunch by the pool. The kid's meal includes a drink (milk or juice) and dessert (ice cream or chocolate cake were among the choices), so it's a great deal! The breakfast buffet starts early (I believe 6:30am) and is fairly priced for the large selection of foods (including stations for omelets, tacos/Mexican food, custom smoothies/juices, waffles, pastries, fruits....For quick dining, there is a little cafe inside of the resort that serves delicious pastries made in-house (we loved the croissants and macarons!), lunch and dinner (sandwiches, salads, soup). The dinner buffet at Isla Contoy (between the pool and the beach) was enjoyed by our family twice. There were many items to choose from, and the adults had 2 drinks (beer or wine) included. Kids were half-price for the buffet dinner (and also for the breakfast buffet). We also ate dinner at the resort's Mexican restaurant, La Joya, twice. The traditional Mexican dishes were great - we especially enjoyed the chef's special of sea bass coated with crickets(!), it was delicious. And the restaurant itself is beautiful - large stained glass windows, lots of candles hanging from large tree branches with flowers. The tequila tasting was informative and fun - the gentleman who served us the tequila was engaging and knowledgeable. We took a cab one night to eat a fantastic meal at Puerto Madero (about a 10 minute cab ride away) - I highly recommend it if you're craving steak! Ask the front desk for a schedule of resort activities when you check in. You may have to ask different people (it took us a couple of days to get one - I think my husband randomly found one at a desk separate from the check-in area). Ideally, the resort should provide this automatically to guests upon check-in. It contains the schedule for certain planned daytime activities/games at the pool, beach, or inside the hotel at night. My children really enjoyed the game nights in the ballroom downstairs. Every night from about 6 or 7pm until 10pm, they set up 2 ping pong tables, foosball tables, a pool table, and other games, with a DJ play music with videos playing on a huge screen in the background, and popcorn and sodas/waters for the kids. I would like to say that one particular staff member, Alain, was especially great with the kids!! Alain seemed to be everywhere -- he was at every game night, worked at the pool activity hut during the day, and dressed up as a bunny on Easter. He brought smiles to many children's faces on Easter day. Alain was so nice to play foosball and pool with my son (age 7) during the evening game nights -- my son really looked forward to seeing Alain each day. I also enjoyed a terrific massage and pedicure at the wonderful Gem Spa. I didn't have time to experience the "hydrotherapy" process, but I would love to do so the next time we visit. Everyone at the resort was extremely helpful and friendly. My daughter accidentally left her bag at the pool one afternoon (it contained her prescription swim goggles, sun screen, and small pool toys). A staff member turned it into the front desk, so we were able to get it back the next day. We never had any worries about leaving our belongings on the pool chairs or beach chairs. Thank you for creating a beautiful, safe, and relaxing environment for my family's vacation! We definitely plan to return to your resort soon, and we are telling our friends all about it too in the hopes that they can join us for the fun.

My wife and I were jonesin' for a trip back to Mexico, this time with a desire to leave our 2-year-old son behind and enjoy the experience. As Fiesta Americana timeshare owners, we decided a trip back to one of our favorite destinations, Los Cabos, was in order. We aslo wanted to do some marketing for our business, so we brought some product down to promote and get photos of for advertising. The previous time we stayed at here, we learned they were going through an ownership change, so we were anxious about what we may find different now that the hotel had been under new ownership and management for about 6 months. The biggest changes: A minor lobby design renovation and the addition of a discotheque. Other than that, it was hard to find anything different than the great experience we were used to. For the 2nd time, we opted for the All-Inclusive package during our stay. This was an excellent decision as the restaurants and bars did not disappoint! The infinity pool was gorgeous, and well maintained. They also added a mojito kiosk, where you could ask bar tenders to custom mix regular or frozen cocktails, which was a huge hit for my wife with the all-inclusive package. Especially when rum drinks were made with Havana Club - a spirit not available in the USA, the cocktails were strong, refreshing at delicious! We found all the bars in the hotel provided exceptional service and top shelf brands upon request. As a disclaimer, we do tip $1 - $2 USD per drink and about $5 - $20 per meal for good services, even though it is not technically "required" with the all inclusive package. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sushi restaurant, with a beautiful outdoor rooftop setting, overlooking the Sea of Cortez. It was January, so you could see whales breaching, playing flexing their blowholes! (We saw whales swimming close to the resort property on at least 10 different occasions). The other restaurants were great, including the steakhouse where we grabbed a few cuban cigars on our way out to enjoy by the firepit. The nightly firepit entertainment this trip was excellent. The performers were all very professional and talented. We typically got more entertainment than we bargained for when all-day drinkers found their way from the adult pool to the firepit and stirred up some drunken drama with their less than excited spouses, but it made for some great stories. The fire pit is an awesome feature to enjoy cocktails, scotch tequila, cigars, and even a bottle of champagne. Lastly, as part of the all inclusive, we took advantage of a ton of room services, and helped ourselves to the stocked mini bar often. Needless to say, I used the gym facilities often as well, which were nice as they have added a pull-up bar and the AC was working well. Overall, we were super impressed with customer service, pool quality, food quality and atmosphere. We look forward to getting back there as timeshare owners as soon as possible. Cheers!

Before booking this hotel, i read a good review indicating it was an older hotel but had all the luxuries albeit aged. That really does sum it up. I personally really enjoyed my stay, The hotel is aged, all the fixtures should be updated but for the price it's a great choice. Shopping is just across the street and you can walk to other restaurants, although the restaurants in the hotel are great. The one i liked the best was the beach front restaurant. It was buffet style but higher quality and the atmosphere and personnel were great and friendly. Seems not many people staying at the hotel may not know about it because it wasn't crowded at all which made it even more relaxing. The second night we went, the waiter remembered us and made a special seafood plate just for us direct from the kitchen. Shrimp, scallops, and assorted fish grilled. Nothing like eating great food right on the beach! In the daytime, the sand is WHITE with the turquoise water in the background. plenty of activities, the pool is huge and again, not that crowded so you can always find a lounge chair. poolside drinks and in pool bars(i think there were 3 bars in the pool!) and good food as well. Only negative was that the free wifi was kinda slow.

I could have given this an average rating for the property and food. Great location, average amenities, very family friendly environment, however more than half of the staff we encountered (like 70%) did not speak English or refused to try. I found this to be frustrating when just looking for the closest bathroom, etc. It was consistent throughout the resort to hear sorry no English. Upon leaving the resort, my wallet was stolen. I am certain of the time frame it went missing out of my carry on bag being loaded by the bellman into the transportation, arranged by the hotel to the airport.When arriving at the airport it was then gone. I contacted the hotel immediately and got the same "sorry no English"....including the concierge Now I am beyond frustrated! I have spoken with a manager since to inform him this happened on his property and he should look into the security of his property and his staff. He was kind on the phone but has since had zero follow through. Anytime I try to follow up to see if it has been located or the thief discovered through reviewing their security cameras I get the same...sorry no English. We will definitely not return and i would not recommend this resort to any friends. There seems to be no concern that their patrons bags/property are not secure with the bellman (your first and last contact with the hotel)

We loved this resort and would absolutely return. It was beautiful. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and hospitable. The room service (which we ordered a lot) was always fresh and often took less than 30 mins. My daughter and I visited their spa and it was the best spa experience I have ever had. We cannot wait to return.
