This is our second stay at Grand Residence - i’ve been to Mexico over 10 times but this is the first time we returned to the same all inclusive, which says a lot for us. I would describe this place as a high end all inclusive, with very, very good food (i love food so that’s a priority for us). The place is super clean, the staff is actually happy to work there and you can tell. The ride that picks you up is in a private fancy Suberman (or van) with iced bottled water. Same for return to the airport. Our driver, Victor, was very professional; we really enjoyed speaking with him and hearing about his background (he’s a Mayan) and how Grand residence ensures that each employees gets an hour of English a day, and how he climbed up from being a dishwasher guy to a driver on Saturday’s. Maybe it’s just me, but i like knowing that the company i’m giving my money to, treats its employees well... Kids club is clean, well organized and my 7 yo. loves it. They do pottery, feed the iguanas, play soccer in the beach and yes, they have an xbox...!!! Pool water is super hot, which was nice since it was cold (for Mexican standard) all week. Not sure i would recommend this place for a party couple, as there’s no night life on site, but i would recommend it 100% to any families or group of friends. I also love fact that there’s always available chairs at pool or beach, and the staff who does towels literally ran as soon as they saw me (and others) looking for chairs - they did our 5 chairs daily, carefully putting several towels in each chair, and always brought bottled water and hand towels on the side tables. Finally, Tony and Raymond did a great job at entertaining during the day, with various games and aqua aerobics. All the concierge (thanks Marcella, you are so nice and helpful) were super helpful, even if I was already “given” another concierge, they were ALL very helpful and caring.

My review is a few months late; but still wanted to share our great experience. We stayed 5 nights mid-October as a family of 5 (kids aged 7 and almost 5 y/o twins). We stayed during "hurricane season" and really lucked out with perfect weather and the resort was only approx 30-40% full in talking with a nice couple who is an owner. In fact, in many of our pictures it looks like we were the only people there! No beach or pool overcrowding! I read a ton of reviews before selecting this resort and this was our 3rd time traveling to MX with our children. I'll agree with the other reviewers who say the complimentary transportation, cleanliness, service, food and room are all top-notch. I'll hit some high-points that might add to what other reviewers have stated. The beach and pool are wonderful and we had no trouble with chairs at any time of day (in reading more recent reviews it looks like you now make reservations, this was not the case when we were there). Sand is powdery and does not get too hot; no seaweed and waves were mild with is nice with kids. Plenty of "treasures" of coral and rocks for kids to find easily. Kids club area has sand toys, boogie boards and life jackets for use, if needed. The pool deck/tile does get VERY hot and is slippery. Not just around the pool, but all over it can be slippery. Signs are up, but you do need to be careful. We did room service once for breakfast and once for dinner which was fun for kids and relaxing for the parents. I really liked the wrist band/room technology and the fact you had the ability to set the "control panel light system" for maid/service, etc and set your room to do not disturb at night. Small touches - but nice. The resort and staff are all very friendly to children; popsicles at noon daily by the pool (mom and dad liked them too). One afternoon upon returning from pool/beach time we heard a "ding" at the door to find room service with cookies for the kids with their names decorated in icing on the cookie. They did a couple of activities at the kids club with a small number (2-6) other children. They really enjoyed the face painting and my daughter got her hair braided in 2 french braids (something I can't do!). Large AI's that take you 20 minutes to walk to the beach and where music is blasted and you have to "stress" about timing dinner/reservations with no wait are not for us. We loved the small/close nature of everything which was one of the reasons for selecting this resort. There is no entertainment in the evening; I knew this in advance. I would have appreciated maybe something 1 or 2 nights early in the evening, but not a deal-breaker for us as with young kids we ate dinner pretty early and they were zonked out early from all the fun in the sun during the day. The kids entertainment was often an evening "dip" in the jacuzzi tub on the balcony before bedtime. They were excited to see what surprise housekeeping left when doing turn down service (while we were at dinner). Negatives: Just a couple and not a deal-breaker. If you do the AI, you still have to sign a lengthy receipt. Not sure if it is just for tip purposes, only, but it was a mix of paper receipts and also wrist band technology by the pool for ordering/tips. There is a washer/dryer in the unit. I had read in a couple of reviews that the dryer functionality doesn't really work - this is correct. It will take many hours to dry your clothes....and then a few more hours. I used it just for some basics/necessities, but expect that you will need to do a combination of dryer/hang dry method. Again...these are minor, but I appreciated the dryer heads up I saw in an older review cause I could have easily seen myself tossing in a load of kids stuff at night expecting it to be dry to wear in the am and that would have put us in a bind. (I know boo, laundry on vacation...but 'tis life). Great experience - would definitely recommend!

I have been wanting to book this property for over year and was finally able to do it. We had a wonderful time. Overall, this resort exceeded our expectations. It was quiet, exclusive, and family-oriented. We opted for the all inclusive option. Here’s what we loved: 1) Our personal concierge Marcela! She was always on-point and catered to our every need from the minute we arrived. 2) The silicone room key wrist bands 3) The Kids Club! (Our 5 y/o loved it) 4) Outstanding service ( They set up your pool/beach chairs with head pillows, provide two beach towels, hand towels, and Evian mist spray) 5) Our Balcony jacuzzi( which we used almost everyday 6) The large spacious and luxurious rooms with twice/day service 7) The Mexican restaurant (our favorite- don’t miss out on their short ribs, Tequila shrimp, and amazing Caesar salad) 8) The activities center. Thank you Antonio ( who is amazing) for the Aqua exercise class! 9) Rooftop tennis courts 10) Heated pools ( including a lap pool!) with three jacuzzis. 11). The CrocoCun Zoo in town. Kids will love it! 12) The round trip airport transportation Five-star accommodations and service in a resort-like atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

We arrived early November to celebrate my in laws wedding anniversary and also our twin boys second birthday. Truly amazing experience from the minute we arrived until we left. Our hotel room was so close to the ocean but also overlooking the main swimming pool. The hotel service was impeccable...from a welcome drink and assistance to our room for check in via our butler, to daily assistance to reserve a spot on the beach or pool, I can’t thank the wonderful staff of grand residences enough for making our family vacation awesome. Thank you for the amazing food, drinks and service and we can’t wait to see you again in June for another family vacation!

EVERYTHING about this resort is top notch!!! The staff is the most wonderful group of people and go above and beyond anything you will EVER find in the states or elsewhere!! It's well worth the extra money to choose the All Inclusive!!! FOOD IS AMAZING!!! May need to take a few extra laps in the pool if you don't want to gain weight ;) And for those traveling with kids and wishing for some adult time you've come to the right place!!! Kids club here is SAFE & FUN!!!! The staff is very vigilant and keep a close eye on the kids at all times and have tons of activities to keep your kids from getting board! Our 7yr old daughter begged to go there everyday and we would have to practically drag her out. And do not forget to call ahead and reserve your complimentary transportation to and from the airport. You are treated like royalty from beginning to end!!
