The Riviera Maya has its share of luxury hotels, but sophisticated Grand Residences Riviera Cancun is a notable exception to the area's crowded mega resorts. The luxurious beachfront property only a half hour drive from Yucatan's busy hub is snugly protected by a nature reserve and is fronted by a private white sandy beach. The quaint fishing village of Puerto Morelos—famous for its coral reefs, dense jungle and quiet beaches—is a quick stroll away. Roomy villas and suites modeled after colonial-style haciendas are designed in hues of burnt orange with dark wood accents and colorful wall art. They face the turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean and include large living areas, kitchens and private terraces plus high-tech creature comforts such as complimentary wireless Internet access, iPod docks, and large LED-screen televisions.

This resort is beautiful! The amenities, food, and drinks are exceptional, but the service is even better. Sebastian the bartender, Gracie the aquatic activities instructor, and Elias the personal driver are only a few of the outstanding staff members we engaged with during our trip. This is a secluded resort with no nightlife. Dinner/drinks end around 10pm. If you are looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay this is the place to be. Cannot wait for our next visit!

After visiting this property last year, we fell in love with the property and the service so we had to return this year. Always, such an enjoyable experience.

Our first visit to the Grand Residencies after becoming owners there. We had very high expectations and the resort and its staff met and exceeded all of the them. The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond, truly making us feel pampered. The food at the restaurants and the drinks at the bars were wonderful. Our concierge helped us plan our activities for the week which included massages (cost), but also included activities like afternoon tea, a cooking class, a bike ride into Puerto Moerelos, and tennis time. The resort is just truly well run. Managers could be seen throughout the day walking around introducing themselves and checking things out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return.

Great attention to detail, clean and friendly staff. The only problem was the beach that had seaweed and the waves were kind of strong. They clean up very often the seaweed but the waves go accordingly with the wind that decreases late afternoon. Water was warm. Food was good, buffet has a lot of variety, the “a la carte” menu is not that big but is enough. Bar at the pool closes at 5 and in general they shut down everything at 10:30 pm. So, if you want to do something extra like dance or a get together after 10:30pm there is no place to do so. Is a quiet place with big rooms. They have activities like bingo, ceramic painting etc, for those you have to reserve a spot. Is a time share so they will try to sell you a membership. You will need to attend a meeting and in exchange they will give discount passes for activities out of the resort. In our case, we didn’t attend the meeting, so we didn’t get any extra discounts. It was good for a 4 day vacation!

Beautiful resort, outstanding food and drinks. Elias was our shuttle driver, highly recommend. Super nice gentleman, very knowledgeable and friendly. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms are very nicely appointed, the washer/dryer in the suite was a nice surprise as well
