JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa in Cancun, Mexico

Nestled along the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa constitutes a quiet refined oasis among the surrounding din. Elegant details set the resort apart from its peers. A delicate flower scent permeates the welcoming lobby and guests can frolic around four outdoor swimming pools. The infinity-edged main pool threads through the landscaped grounds and fronts the pristine powdery sand. Jump the diving pool's deep end and explore the built-in artificial reef. Dotted with beach chaise loungers and shady palapas, the 700-foot beach beckons to linger. The cerulean ocean is the resort's ubiquitous backdrop and all 448 rooms have private balconies where to take in the view. Appointed in classic style, roomy accommodations (the smallest measures 465 square feet) feature sitting areas with lively color accents, wireless Internet access, 32-inch flat-panel televisions and twice-daily maid service. Bathrooms are exquisitely marble-bedecked with separate tubs and showers.

At the heart of the JW Marriott Cancun Resort lies its Mayan inspired adults-only 35,000 square foot spa, which includes an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, a cutting-edge fitness center, and spectacular sea views. Among the comprehensive array of services are healing saltwater treatments and Kin Ahau aromatherapy massages which combine elements of Thai, Swedish, Deep Tissue and lymphatic drainage. No one goes hungry at this property. Feeling peckish while sunbathing? Ultra-prompt poolside wait staff has guests set up pronto with drinks and light lunch fare. During more formal dinner, the resort boasts outstanding cuisine at all three of its gourmet restaurants. Enjoy pan-Mediterranean cookery at Gustino Italian Grill or feast on creative Caribbean-Southwestern U.S. fusion dishes like coffee-rubbed tender filet mignon accompanied by Peruvian potato pure at Sedona Grill. Head to exclusive five-diamond Club 91 (named after the number of steps to ascend Chichn Itza's pyramid) for happy hour libations or after-hours party time. The JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa is a paragon of luxurious serenity and the warmth of Mexican hospitality enhanced by stellar amenities.

I have never seen a hotel so beautiful and comfortable as this! People are very nice as well. The pools are great, and the beach is crystal blue and you just walk to the beach from the pools! Service is marvelous and the prices reasonable. You can order your drinks from the beach! Don't forget the happy hour 4 to 6 pm. Rooms are clean and balconies with beach view!

The grounds are lovely, the rooms are very nice and the staff is top notch. At poolside, Alan and Hildalgo couldn't have been more attentive and very kind and friendly to all of us. Eating at the Sedona Grill, Maldonado and Juan were great wait staff, our dining experience was very pleasant because of them and Jerry at the front desk handled moving us to a different room. Overall, our experience was awesome. There is construction right now, so be sure to get a room away from the elevators. Would I go back? In a heart beat !

We stayed here for a day on each end of our trip to work in Yucatan. It was an oasis to recuperate in. Quiet, lovely garden courtyard with pool and trees and pretty yellow birds. The restaurant served a Yucatecan plate with panuchos, empanadas, casedillas, tamales, and burritos that was yummy. Loved our ground-floor room looking out on the trees and the pool. (Room 114) Perfect to get ready and then to wind-down. Anticipating our next trip. Oops, I forgot to mention, it is near the airport and has a free shuttle.

My husband & I️ stayed here for our 25th anniversary, and we couldn’t have been treated any better! Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately taken upstairs to the club 91 check-in. We were introduced to the staff right away, and they made us feel so welcomed! They were always there to answer any questions, and were so helpful in making reservations for ya for dinner out snorkeling. Champagne & fruit in the room upon arrival to celebrate our anniversary. Desert awaited us in the room on the actual date of our anniversary. We went to the club every morning for breakfast, and then went down to the adult pool. The food at breakfast was always fresh with a good variety of fruit, pastries, juice, and cheeses! (Also soft drinks, water, and coffee always available!) We never had any trouble finding seats by the pool. Service at the pool was outstanding, and there is also a swim up bar in the adult pool. We took our Yeti cups, and they happily poured our drinks in the yeti cups for us. No music at the pool. They offer food at the pool, but most days we went back up to club 91 to eat. Lunch at Club 91 was never a disappointment, with a variety of chips, salsa, sandwich items, authentic side dishes, and new items daily to try. The variety of food was astonishing- and everything was delicious. The night menu for dinner was given to us upon arrival, and based on that we opted to go off property for a couple evenings to eat. Walter & his amazing staff provided recommendations and took care of the reservations for us. We even had to change our reservations one night to be able to release baby turtles (FUN!), and the staff was again so nice and helpful. Club 91 then offered drinks in the evening. Overall, our stay was incredible. Club 91 is a superb option if you are willing to go up and eat at lunch, and you don’t mind staying at the hotel for most meals. We are hoping to go back with our kids, and will definitely do Club 91 again. My only complaint is the parasailing boats and the other businesses up & down the beach. (But that’s not a hotel problem- Cancun is just very commercialized!)
