My wife and I decided to book a spontaneous trip and booked a week prior before heading out. Out of many choices, we decided to give this place a try. If you're looking for something close to the city, you're about a good 30 min drive from the downtown area, kind of secluded from everything. As far as the view, ocean temperature was just perfect! Staff and service was great, breakfast buffet was always amazing! We did try our the steak house and, wow, steak was amazing! Bar tender outside of the steak house was awesome! always remembered us and always gave us new drinks to try. Only downfall, is if you're looking to stay up a little later, all bars are closed by 10:30-11pm, except the one in the main lobby that closes at 1am. Pools are pretty big and a lot of jacuzzis to relax in. If you're looking for some very relaxing time, the SPA was amazing! Before treatment, they have you go in a steam room, followed by 3 small pools at different temperatures before your actual massage. Room service takes about a good 45 min-1 hour, so expect a wait on that. If youre looking for an excursion, get with the Amstar and book the catamaran cruise to Isla Mujeres! Included snorkeling in the crystal clear waters, under water museum, and just a great time before getting to the beautiful island! Overall, we had a great experience! Enjoy!

The resort property was absolutely beautiful. I was most impressed by the fact that there was always a spot by the pool no matter what time of day we went. It didn't seem crowded at all even though I was told it was at 95% occupancy. The chairs on the beach would get filled up first but if you really wanted to get chairs (or the big beach beds) you could easily go out a little earlier and get them. This was not the most beautiful beach but it was nice enough to swim in and the view was nice and what the beach lacked the pools made up for. Someone always brought us towels and fixed our chairs and umbrellas. And there was no fuss about how many towels you wanted nor did you have to show an ID or leave a towel card. There was a kiddie pool and an adult only pool and a huge main pool. There was always nice music playing and exercise class every afternoon. They also had other things you could sign up for like dance lessons and cooking classes. There was a nice area for volleyball on the beach and kayaks and paddle boards and a place just up the road that had other (paid) activities like snorkeling, diving, etc. It's true that it's not a nice beach to take a long walk, but out on the main road there were nice wide sidewalks where we walked and jogged and felt safe although not very scenic but good to get exercise plus the gym is very nice. This place is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so you will need to take a taxi to go anywhere. This was a plus for us because it was quiet and relaxing. We didn't get the all inclusive so we did go to a food store to get some groceries for the week and the rates were reasonable and the taxi would either wait or come back for you. They do have a nice market on the property where you can buy some groceries and it has a deli, coffee, ice cream and a little shop with clothing and souvenirs. We ate at the little Mexican place in the pool area and the food was great and had reasonable prices. We ate at the buffet restaurant once and the food was fantastic with a huge variety to choose from and also at reasonable price. In this buffet style restaurant they also had a stage and some type of entertainment almost every night. We saw an Argentinian show with singing, dancing and other entertainers. It's also a short ride to the ferry to Isla Mujeres where we watched a beautiful sunset, had a great dinner and did some shopping. And we went to the hotel zone one evening to shop for a $20 taxi ride each way, a great price for 4 of us. There was construction going on the south side of the hotel and it was noisy but unless you're trying to sleep late or spend a lot of time in the room it wasn't bothersome. We didn't hear it anywhere else on the property. One thing we were truly unhappy about is that the fee for WiFi was $60 per week per device. Going in we thought it was $60 per week for 4 devices. This might not matter if you have the all-inclusive, not sure. There was free WiFi at the market just outside the hotel.

My husband and I just returned from a week at this resort. I cannot say enough good stuff about the staff and customer service we received here! Everyone was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed! Alejandro at the pool was exceptional! The entertainment staff, Janette and Rodrigo were excellent too! The food was all amazing and always available. I have seen better beaches but they are doing everything they can to keep the seaweed cleaned up. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I love this place and all the staff!

We just returned from a wonderful week at the Villa Del Palmar resort in Cancun Here are some details about our stay! Had some wonderful food at Zama restaurant. We especially LOVED having Israel, the chef, cook our Mahi and Bonita one evening. Wonderful to say the least. We provided the fish we had caught that day and paid $15 per person for a fantastic 5 course meal. Great service from Noe and Roni also. Loved the super warm pools and hot tubs at the resort! Especially enjoyed them late at night and was so glad they stayed open. Great kids pool for my grand baby! Loved using the kayaks and SUP at no charge! We were able to experience 1 cooking class and made Tiramisu! Chef Saul did a wonderful job and it was delicious! Loved the Italian restaurant and it was excellent food. We tried pizza and grilled octopus and had a wonderful dessert. We did not have the all inclusive but enjoyed many wonderful meals and snacks at the resort. Great breakfast buffet twice at Capricos. Tomas and Marcos provided excellent service! Wish the bite bar was open later in the evening! Loved the fruit salad and breeze non alcoholic drink at the pool! We LOVED the market and Miky and Edwardo treated us like we were family! GELATO was a daily vice! It was as good as the gelato we have experienced in Italy! We had wonderful breakfasts at the market when we were rushing to get going for the day! Chicken quesadillas and steak burritos were some of our favorites. The pastries were fabulous too! It is a great addition to the property and love that it has a Starbucks! We travel a lot! I own a travel agency and get to experience many resorts and locations. I would stay again at this resort. It was a delight! I had a 2 bedroom condo and also rented a studio for my daughter and son in law and grand baby. We had plenty of room. We used the vans across the street to go to local restaurants, go to catch the ultramar ferry and go to downturn. SUPER CHEAP 8 pesos per person. We loved a local restaurant, Flamingos. It was only 5 minutes from the resort and very reasonable and excellent food! ONE WARNING. Major mosquitoes as soon as you walk out of the resort. We were eaten alive waiting for the cans across the street and as we walked one evening. Take bug repellent! We are owners at the Villa Del Palmar in Loreto. Love that resort and loved this one as well! Great service at check in from Natalya. Excellent service from Chantelle at the member concierge desk. Great place to take your family!!

Loved the location and being away from the hotel zone of Cancun. The grounds and rooms are very nice. Lots of fish to see on the beach. I even fished and caught some down a bit from the hotel. The restaurants didn't have quite the selection on the menus that you get at many other hotels. All in all we enjoyed the hotel and vacation.
