I am an InterContinental Carlton loyal lover, but wanted to try the Majestic this time because I wanted my 5 year old daughter to have fun in the Kid's Club. And Oh my, she had the best of times there! I think this trip was the best of all my trips to Cannes THANKS to Giulia, Fanny, Berenice, and Clara at the Barriere's Kids Club. They are Lovable, professional, fun, joyous, wizards of their crafts. My daughter wanted to stay more every time I came to pick her up @ closing time. She wanted the pool and the beach only with Giulia and the ladies. She loved every part of their rich and fun programs. It was so much fascinating, both myself and my husband ended up going with them on their little excursion trips to the surrounding areas. I am so grateful for the Majestic Barriere and their Special Club. Thank you for making our trip special and unforgettable!! I will definitely come back to the Majestic on my next visit to Cannes.

Having been to Cannes for the past 4 years to the same hotel we decided to stay somewhere different. We had always wanted to stay at the majestic so saved up a few more pennies and booked it. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Rooms are lovely, staff are exceptional and food at breakfast was wonderful. No faults no problems. Best location in Cannes. We stayed in April this year and have booked to go back in two weeks time. Special thanks to Fanny at the kids club our Harry can't wait to go back. He would rather go to kids club than swimming or to the beech that's how good they are with children, thanks. Also mention to the manager at the time of our last stay Mr Laurent who made our stay exceptional. We will see you on the 22 August. Thanks Paul, Andrea and Harry gleave

On arrival we were greeted very pleasantly and promptly by staff awaiting arrivals. We were shown to reception to be checked in - this was poor. We were informed and shown by map about beach front lounges and given incorrect costs. Then when I asked if we could have one complimentary access to the beach front he declined and proceeded to show us the 'normal shops' on the map! We were then shown to our room on the 4th floor - however it was still being cleaned so had to wait outside the room. We had waited for five minutes until another member of staff apologised and brought us to another room, on the same floor. It had a partial sea view, however after we were left on our own the electric went off as we and not been given our room cards. I went down to reception and my husband stayed in the room as we did not want to be locked out. At reception I was asked were I had gone and that again we were in the wrong room. Back up again and moved to the 5th floor with no partial sea view - but room was lovely, spacious, clean and met expectations. Later that day a bottle of complimentary bottle of champagne was delivered to our room - we were thankful but explained that we did not drink alcohol and asked would it be possible to change it to two soft drinks - this request was turned down. At breakfast the following morning a manager did show us to out table and apologise for the hassle of check in and left us her card. Breakfast had a wide range of variety and was very good quality although my order was wrong on two occasions which I feel at this standard of hotel should not happen - I ordered egg white omelette and this seemed to cause confusion. First morning it came and I thought it may have been the oil it was cooked in had impacted the colour so ate some of it - resulting in upset stomach and having to stay around hotel for the most of the day The second morning I just sent it back to have what had been requested. Also on the last morning a staff member (Meline) was discipled by another male member of staff in the breakfast area - she was marched out and brought to a bar area be hide us, resulting in her coming back and being very tearful. I have to say she had been our waitress up until that point and had been very good but then focussed on clearing tables and trying not to burst into tears - we felt this was not the time or the place to deal with a staffing matter. Sun lounges around the pool were very limited and in close proximity of each other. My sun lounges were either allocated on the grass area of the bar and up steps and over onto a balcony - however was asked to move around 5ish each day as they and to set up for dinner - usually we enjoy that part of the day and stay until around 6.30pm - no other alternative was offered as there was no room, And even on one occasion had to deal with windows being cleaned on the balcony area beside me - felt very uncomfortable and could not relax as he keep dropping the cleaning equipment. Staff on the doors at night seemed to be only interested in certain guests as most nights we were not greeted leaving or coming back to hotel but did observe how other guests were treated. Check out - we were charged for two extra breakfasts and I had initially paid and then checked over the bill. It took a while to convince the gentleman that I was being honest as I was questioned and requestioned and asked had I had breakfast even in my room. He was unsure how to refund credit card and had to go at least three times behind reception for guidance. We were given the key to the courtesy room to change on our last day - unclean!! Dirty towels on floor and I actually washed the shower floor before we could use it. There was no hairdryer in room and had to go to reception to ask - they once again made me feel inferior and was told there was one in the room - a nice gentleman came to show me were is was located however had to apologise as it was not there. He promptly brought one down, apologising again - he was very efficient and I wish we had have more dealings with him! This hotel is in a beautiful location which great facilities however we felt that staff did not make us feel welcome and did at times made to be feel inferior by their treatment and tone us us. This was a treat for my 40th birthday and I have to say came away feeling very disappointed, staff need to be reminded that all guests are welcome, special and equal and all should be treated with the same respect. This was an expensive short break for us and I do feel we were not given value for money.

No doubt, this is a fine luxury hotel. The location is prime, right next to the "palais des congres" where the film festival happens, across from the beach and the croisette, near to all the shopes and 2 mins away from the rue d'Antibes. I've stayed in this hotel for numerous occasions and was luck enough to stay in a different room or suite every time I visit this fantastic place. Almost every room is different. I personally prefer the renovated wing on the west side of the hotel (to the right when facing the sea), the room are slightly more modern there, but honestly every rooms are at the highest standard. The service and staff are great, the room service's a bit expensive (40 Euros +++ for a Burger...) and I would recommend to eat outside the hotel if you're looking for good and afordable meal... there are plenty of nice street restaurant in the area... One thing I would absolutely recommend you to go for at the hotel is the breakfast ...simply amazing! Nothing's like champagne with your eggs Benedict! The Gym is small but never croweded, the spa's managed by Clarins and it's a shame we cannot access the sauna or hammam for free after a good work-out session. The Pool is also quite small but who care when the beach is just 25 meters away... One thing very anoying though is the fact that you have to pay extra for the lounging chair on the beach or the pool (50 Euros +++)... and the lounging chair on the dock is even more. Makre sure you take a package that includes this feature ... The Two restaurants in the hotel serve great cuisine (one more brasserie style, the other is more "gastronomique") but the bill can be heavy! Overall It's a great and luxurious hotel in the tradition of the palaces you expect to see on the croisette. I would recommend this hotel for couples and business travelers who likes the comfort and luxury of a Palace on the french Riviera... not so much a family hotel...
