Reviews for Majestic Barrière Cannes
We travel every summer to the French Riviera, Monte Carlo, Cannes, Nice and so, we stayed in the best 5 star hotels, the Majestic Barrier is one of the best in all the Riviera and definitely the best in Cannes. This is pure luxury at it's finest, chic sleek, when you'll pull to the hotel driveway the magic will start, staff 5 star, lobby 5 star, rooms 5 star, it's an amazing stay start to end, pamper yourself with a FULL ocean view room. Ah, the blue Mediterranean Sea. Yes, heaven, I'm in Haven... You can't find a better place, trust me, we tried so many.
I recently stayed here for 5 nights. I experienced a world first for me as my luggage was searched by security as I arrived at the hotel. Never before and hopefully never again! Luckily the porter saw the unfriendly greeting and came and said hello and tried to make amends. The security did this to all guests, I believe it's temporary. I had a prestige sea view room with a lovely view and it was a delight to be in this beautiful room. The sea view rooms come with major noise from the main Cannes boulevard until after midnight, but it didn't bother me too much. There are quieter rooms at the back of the hotel if you don't need a view. Housekeeping was a little random with shampoos etc not being replaced on a couple of days. The Nespresso machine is great but why only two tea pods versus 9 coffee pods? 6 of each would be better. Breakfast was exceptional. They make a great coffee and on my first day I had the best poached eggs ever. Sadly every other day the poached eggs were cold and not to the same standard which was a shame given I knew the potential. Even with this lapse, the consistently good coffee, exceptional cheese platter, croissant and fruit made up for it. The pool area is small and has no breeze so it gets quite uncomfortable in the heat. The staff around here were excellent with special praise to Lionel who really gets what genuine and exceptional service is all about. The beach set up is fantastic, but the 40 euro a day price is additional. I think the hotel would be better off including the price in the hotel rate. It's a big add on for a family of 4-5 planing a 5 day beach holiday. Spa was excellent, masseuse first rate Overall I want to love this hotel and with a few tweaks I'd get there.

I have been to this hotel twice now and I'm already planning to go again next summer. There is no place like Cannes and this hotel captures it all! Service is amazing, view is stunning, location is perfect, and my kids got to experience the best kids club ever. We travel a lot and have never seen such a caring fun staff like the one in this kids club. My kids are asking to go back again, they really do a great job. the only negative to this hotel is wifi kept kicking me off but really fun hotel that pleases everyone:)
This hotel is a luxury one and I must say, it was my first exprience with this kind of luxury hotels and I am not sure what should I expect. There is no doubt about its position at La Croisette, cleanness, etc. But from my point of view there are some things to know like: - floor where you stay: Our room/suite was large with a very nice view to the sea. But our colleagues were in the first floor right above the parking place. Some of the rooms are situated above the road, so it is also very noisy. Make sure about the position of yor room, if possible to influence this when you do your booking. - there was quite disturbing loud music until late night at the pool bar. (but it was quite OK, when you close windows/terrace door. But, I believe that this is a reason why many people go to Cannes - to enjoy. Another small details that could be improved: - We booked 4 rooms and we have to wait quite long for our rooms to be ready. Until 4 or 5 pm. - There was a welcome bottle of Champagne at the room. First day it was in the ice. But the bottle was left there in the water (made from original ice) until we drink it. Nobody refilled the ice. - You have to pay to get to hotel private beach (but I found this is probably common) - there is a free wifi, but it is quite limited with speed (and some other limitations, which I do not remember well now), which is quite strange to me these days.

One of the best hotels in France. The staff are excellent, but concierge staff in particular. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for! Location is excellent also - right on the beach. Highly recommended.
