RUDE MANAGER

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Let me start by saying, the communication at this property is very poor. I kept on calling them about planning an activity prior to my arrival date and was being put on hold for 30 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone. I saw an activity online ( Stairway via Ferrata ) which piqued my interest informed by the receptionist/ resort that this is only possible by staying at Amangiri since this is one of the activities offered by the resort. I tried to booked for 2 nights but I was told they can only accommodate me for one night which I agreed since this is just a side trip for my other booked activities with other nearby parks ( Bryce Canyon and Zion National park ). Looking back , Thank GOD I only stayed overnight. I arrive early at the resort because I don’t wanna be late with my scheduled activity at 9AM and was coming from Brye canyon. The guy who meet us outside told us that there is no room available which is understandable and we are not requesting or demanding because We know check in time is 3/4PM. I said it’s okay I am aware. So he let us IN. When we arrive at the reception desk Candice asked us how dd we get in with the reservation since they were in the process of “buy out” with other guest, I was surprised to hear that but I shrugged my shoulder. My understanding seems like the breakfast area was reserved that day and the guests are scheduled to checked out the same day. I explained to her that I informed someone of my arrival specially the time because of my scheduled activity. The people at the front desk seemed confused and not happy with our arrival. They keep on questioning us why someone let us IN at the resort. Hannah (FRONT DESK MANAGER ) came to us very rude yelling and humiliated us infront of other guests telling us that we were not supposed to be there at such time. She told us that we should be happy because they let us IN but we are not allowed to be in that area, She was yelling that other guest from the breakfast area can hear and are looking at us. My friend wanted to leave and cancel the activity but she knows that the activity I was booked IN was one of my bucket list so we stayed, The manager came in at some point while we were waiting for the timed activity informing us that we can grab something from the breakfast area - WE DID NOT ATTEMPT because of the humiliation we received. There is no difference of the service with any other hotels.

Disappointing so far…

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Our trip is at months end but the customer service on scheduling excursions has been abysmal. So bad that I finally scheduled a couple of excursions through Get My Guide. It’s taken 2 days and 4 calls to get a live human. Scheduled a follow up call and they sent 2 appointments for the same day? They didn’t call on the first appointment and I missed the call for the second. I sent an email the following day and got an answer the same day!! But had a follow up question, sent another email the same day. That was 2 days ago. Followed up for a third time via email and hope I hear back. We’re leaving for the resort in 2 days and thank God I still have my Get Your Guide excursions. I wish I could say I was looking forward to my trip but my expectations at this point are very low.

Helicopter YES or helicopter NO ?????

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

our stay. was nice but we are very disappointed because we were dreaming of doing the helicopter trip . Since our arrival we said we wanted it . Yesterday we said we wanted to go to the Monumental Valley . They said they we'll tell us today . In the morning they said they would confirm it . They even wanted to know our weight . In the early afternoon they didn't have a pilot and now they told me there is not availability of helicopter. I have an awful taste they weren't serious giving us hope of something we are not going to do !!! we are in suite 1 and we came all the way from Argentina

Subpar service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Overall Amangiri is a scenic and relaxing resort, but their service leaves much to be desired. On our first day we were forgotten at the Fireside Pavilion. After waiting outside (in the cold) for over 15 minutes I had to remind the staff we were still waiting for our blankets, heaters, and menus. This lack of attention to detail continued throughout our stay. Our itinerary was incorrect, information from the front desk was inconsistent, and errors were made on our bill. In addition, miscommunication from staff was a common theme — none of which were reconciled in a satisfactory manner.

Amazing setting but food/service needs work.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I have to agree with other reviewers service is spotty for the price. The excursions are confusing and not well explained. Gratuity policy seems unclear. But our biggest pet peeve seemed to be with quality of food. All meals are included so you have no other choices. Bread is made in-house and is delicious and you can order food to your room so we order a cheese plate that was inedible. It had crotons on it and some pitiful grapes, cheese was stale - didn’t think you could ruin a cheese plate! We were only there for 2 nights but not impressed with quality of food or service. Grounds are amazing and setting is spectacular, room was beyond comfortable but seems over-hyped would not recommend.
