The high tea was such a nice experience and compares to no other! Our server, Thabisa, was lovely and so kind, she was very attentive and warm. The food was also so amazing- from the starters to the deserts! Will definitely go back for the cakes especially the cheesecake! Would highly recommend!

I attended the high tea at Mount Belmont for my birthday and I got to have Emma as my waitress that day. She was so knowledgeable about the teas with such a pleasant and warm demeanor. All I had to do was tell her the kind of flavors I liked and she was able to suggest me teas that tasted amazing! She took really beautiful pictures of me that I was able to send to my mother. She also informed the staff it was my birthday and they gifted me a cute and tasty box of chocolates. It was just such a nice touch. Mount Nelson and Emma, thank you for making my birthday such a success.

I've visited and stayed at the Mount Nelson Hotel during my six visits to Cape Town spanning 18 years. It's been a 10 year absence since my last visit, and I wanted my nephew to experience their signature afternoon tea,. The hotel has changed dramatically since my last visit, and I felt that it had lost some of its soul and identity as a unique Cape Town hotel. We did have afternoon tea as we could not eat much of the savoury choices on offer. The afternoon tea used to be a buffet style which was unique to Cape Town and indeed to other top hotels around the world. We had lunch instead which was very nice, but limited for choice. The Planet Restaurant no longer existed and id currently an empty shell. The grounds and the building have remained unchanged, and I will always return here, as it is like visiting a very old friend.
