We had a fantastic high tea in this hotel. We started with a cocktail in the bar which was excellent. The high tea was good, and we had the honor of being served by Emma who made this a 5* experience for us. She was very customer oriented, kind, and knowledgable.

Just spent two nights at the Belmond during a work trip to Cape Town. The hotel is very beautiful, Colonial style at its best. The atmphere brings you back in time and the gardens, bar and restaurants are in a perfect setting. The hotel have however a few flaws which I believe the staff is trying to solve. My room had no hot water and although the first day I have managed to have a lukewarm shower, the second day the water was just freezen. Reception swiftly tried to solve the issue by suggesting a shower room, which was not ideal but at least they made an attempt to find a solution. The other issue came on the second day when a strange smell came into the room.... I think they are having some major plumming issues but I believe the Hotel management is trying to solve the issues. Restaurant food was lovely and the staff very friendly. Overall I would go back to this hotel and suggest it to friends.

Right beside the table mountain, this building is a class of its own. Everything was just Seven Stars. A little costly but staff is friendly and overall a great place to spend quality time. Location wise, everything is closeby.

I have stayed in this jewel of a hotel many times in the last 20 years...hotel is as good as ever but the environs have become just too dangerous. Having lived in Joburg before I'm no stranger to the realities of South Africa, but Long Street and the Company Gardens have become much, much more dangerous and just not a safe or relaxing place to be. Won't be returning.

This classic hotel provided us with a spacious room and grand marble bathroom, an attentive staff, and a great selection of food for breakfast and high tea. We had lovely views of the fountains and gardens. The grounds were impressive and the swimming pools well kept. The hotel grounds were quiet and a good respite from the activities on the waterfront. There is a shuttle to and from the town. The staff was warm and welcoming and responded quickly to our requests. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others looking for a place that will provide great service and a peaceful setting.
