Perfect high tea experience
It was quite a long walk into the venue, but once inside you're transported. As we entered there was live piano music, gorgeous decor, and a generally relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The service was absolutely impeccable! Nomkitha had fantastic recommendations and managed the table expertly. She made us feel so welcome! The food itself is delicious. Special standouts for the Classic Tea include the confit duck sausage roll, cucumber gazpacho, citrus tea loaf, and the blueberry lavender choux bun. They're all delicious, but these are particularly memorable.

Oasis of tranquility and well-being
My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in the Mount Nelson and could not have chosen a better spot. The hotel itself breathes both history and style and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Excellent food, service and facilities. The staff go above and beyond and we felt so pampered and well looked after. We were greatly impressed by the amazing attention to detail, and though we’ve travelled the world this stay was definitely one of the best ever.

A classic hotel.
It is iconic, it is classic and it takes you back to a time of tradition and standards. The room was well appointed, the service is impressive, small things like a cloth for your glasses. What I did enjoy the most is the breakfast buffet. Decadent, and varied. Spa is also world class. It’s a treat being here and I feel special that I treated myself.

This hotel more than lived up to expectations...
This is a lovely traditional luxury hotel with great facilities. The hotel is located away from the harbour but it is only a short taxi ride away or a shuttle bus departing at set times. There are restaurants located nearby if you do not want to eat at the hotel every night. The rooms are very comfortable. There are two swimming pools [one for adults only], good choices of food at breakfast including oysters. Sadly we did not have an opportunity to eat lunch or dinner. We were gifted a high tea for our 50th wedding anniversary which was excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. I would love to return.

What a wonderful afternoon spent leisurely enjoying afternoon, served by very efficient waitress Ntombi , Craig was great too. We’ll be back for sure
