A delightful afternoon tea with old school charm
The Mount Nelson’s afternoon tea is an absolute staple in Cape Town, and an experience I keep coming back to. It starts with a glass of bubbles and a very impressive list of teas to choose from - definitely a chance to try something unusual. The food is stunningly presented in three courses: savoury, scones and sweet - with a bonus cake buffet after. My favourite dishes today were the mushroom pie, the hazelnut and passion fruit cake, and the scones, which were simply exceptional. Throughout we were well looked after by Thuli and the rest of the team, and left having had a fabulous afternoon. You won’t be disappointed.

One of the better afternoon teas in Cape Town
Afternoon Tea at the Mount Nelson is always a treat. Thuli, our waiter, knew her teas and helped guide our decisions. The tea menu is vast and well varied as are the balance of sweet and savoury delights that accompany the experience. Having tried several afternoon teas across South Africa, this remains one of our favourites.

Stunning afternoon high tea
The high tea experience at Mount Nelson Hotel was amazing. The service was incredible, especially Shannon's personal touches which added to the experience and the ambience was phenomenal. I will definitely be back.
