Such a lovely afternoon tea experience 🤍🫖 Beautiful setting, elegant presentation, delicious treats, and genuinely warm service. Everything felt thoughtful and well put together without being overly formal. The perfect little afternoon escape — definitely one of my favourite experiences in Cape Town. ✨the staff name Andiswa is the best, so helpful and lovely!

We had such a lovely afternoon enjoying high tea at the Mount Nelson. The setting is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the whole experience was wonderful. The selection of teas, savoury bites and sweet treats was fantastic, and everything was beautifully presented. It’s such a special way to spend an afternoon in Cape Town, and we left feeling thoroughly spoiled. Our service from Thuli was excellent - she was warm, friendly and very helpful. Her service was superb. We’ll definitely be back!

We were fortunate enough to get married at The Mount Nelson and recently returned to celebrate our 19th Wedding Anniversary. The reception we received when we arrived was incredible and the effort that all the staff went to to make our stay truly memorable was absolutely outstanding. The personal touches in our magnificent room made the experience one we will never forget. The entire experience was world-class.

Like the previous reviewer, Lugano Pirate, I have experienced very many 5 star hotels throughout the world , and I absolutely agree with him that the staff here are exceptional - not just some but all of them! I have never been addressed by name by so many staff as in this all too short two night stay. Nobody put a foot wrong - arrival was welcoming, efficient, caring and friendly. A room upgrade is always appreciated but even without it, the interaction with the staff would have been the same. Lovely wide corridors, beautifully furnished and like my bedroom in pristine condition. My stylish bathroom with copious bath sheets and wonderful toiletries, bathrobes and kimonos. Copious storage space, a particularly comfortable bed with lovely linen. The atmosphere was so relaxing and quiet and I enjoyed sitting on the spacious balcony and everything worked. Service in every area was friendly courteous and on point, the Planet Bar invites relaxation with attentive service. The breakfast buffet in Oasis offers an unbelievable range of items including some lovely oysters and Emily looked after me perfectly as did the ever smiling and attentive sommelier, Lucian, at dinner in Amura Restaurant which I would highly recommend for some wonderful innovative cooking of all things from the ocean - don't miss the hot and cold scallop or plankton risotto. In fact don't miss staying at this wonderful hotel!

I've stayed in many 5* properties all over the world, and while all strive for perfection, there is usually something that niggles or is not quite right. The one exception to this is the Mount Nelson where everything just works seamlessly and everything just clicks into place as it should. The staff work together in harmony and go out of their to please, as well as remembering the likes and dislikes of returning guests.
