We were ecstatic when we found out we had been upgraded to an island suite! What a treat! The rooms and special touches upon arrival are what make the One & Only stand out. Service is impeccable all around. And the rooms are truly stunning. Location is great. I would highly recommend and two nights was way too short.

This hotel is totally amazing, the staff are so helpful and friendly! The hotel is beautifully furnishhed, the rooms are stunning, lavish, spacious and one can tell the impecable attention to detail in every aspect of the furnishings, coffee and mini bar. The fruit platter and bubbly on arrival is a very special touch to receive in the room. The bar is great to have coffee and drinks during the evening. You cannot help but feel very spoilt spending time at this beautiful hotel!

This is a gorgeous hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The mountain views are spectacular and the rooms were beautifully accommodated. Clean, comfortable beds, gorgeous rooms and bathrooms. Delicious breakfast buffet too. Very close to local shops, pier, and mall. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

We recently booked a high tea even for 25 of our industry clients and business partners - all women for women's day. These included important members of TNPA, SAOGA and SAMSA, all key role players within South Africa's Maritime Industry. What a disappointment it was then to have all our guests complaining about the venue and worse still asking if we could please revert the venue back to the Cape Grace! Amongst some of the complaints were the following: Some of the ladies wished to take home their left over cakes for their kids. They were flat out denied any type of take away box, this after guests from the same party seated at the next table had been given take away boxes!!! When I complained to the head waiter he said would ask 'Tracey'. Well we never heard back from this elusive Tracey nor the Head waiter, in fact we had to ask over and over again to eventually be told by waiter it was still a no! What was so sad is that they cleared away the food and most likely threw it away..... Then there was the matter of the food or snack platters. Awful!! I've had better at a 3 star hotel. The bread was so hard on the mini stacked sandwiches the crust actually cut my gums.... The choice was unappetizing and the presentation was tired as were the tiny snippets of tomato and cucumber. Then there was the matter of the waitress who took ages to bring out the second bottle of which point I think the guests were just so fed they started to leave!!!!!! I can't express enough what an overall disappointment the entire experience was. None of the ladies felt special in the least after being treated so rudely and it was commented on how the hotel staff en route to the restrooms hardly gave a cursory nod, while hotel guests were treated with a warm hello!! Is this it really??? Many of the guests, like myself had never been and I was told it wasn't 'too bad' which is in itself a fairly poor rating, but thought it best to form my own opinion. Sorry, but I won't recommend the venue for any future events. There are better places to go in Cape Town where no matter who you are you are given the 5star treatment!!! Please, there is no need to respond, I have noted some of the lackluster responses to previous complaints and honestly can't understand why they were even written as they were simply accusatory and argumentative, well no surprises there then!
