The superior one-bedroom suite-marina is a breathtaking experience which is absolutely breathtaking and picture perfect with the table mountain in the backdrop. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. the Spar treatments is out of this world and very tranquil environment.

This was the first stop on our South African honeymoon, and we really enjoyed our stay there. The room was beautiful and had an amazing view of Table Mountain. The rest of the hotel was very classy. There is a great bar area with live music in the afternoon/evening. And the food is excellent. The breakfast buffet is top notch for sure, and on par with the Four Seasons. There is a beautiful pool and spa. And location is also great, as you can easily walk to the V&A Waterfront day or night.

We stayed four nights here on our way to the Lion Sands Safari Lodge and the Ngoma Safari Lodge in Botswana. After a 15-hour flight from New York, we were ready for some R&R and pampering. The One & Only did not disappoint. The breakfast included with our stay daily was abundant and fresh. WE MUST CALL OUT AUBREY IN THE REUBEN'S BREAKFAST AREA FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE! When another waiter dropped the ball, he gladly assumed responsibility and provided the exceptional service one expects at a 5-star resort. He made excellent sightseeing recommendations and was a wealth of information about the hotel, as he has been at the One & Only Cape Town since it opened seven or eight years ago. Nobu was outstanding, we liked it even better than La Columbe and Pot Luck Club. The spa is wonderful. One of the staff told us it had won a designation as the best spa in Africa, and we now know why. After a very disappointing visit to the Twelve Apostles Spa, we thought we'd try the One & Only. Head over heels much better all the way around. Great outdoor relaxation areas and everything was so well kept. Kudos to the staff for a very relaxing stay. The only hiccup was that the security man at the pool kept asking for our room number and name every day. At a 5-star resort, they should learn their guests and ask only the first day. This is the common rule at the Four Seasons and other properties of its ilk and it should be at the One & Only. Again, please call out Aubrey in The Reuben's breakfast restaurant. He exemplifies well the One & Only brand and should be commended for such fine service and awelcoming smile everyday. Oh, I forgot. When we arrived there was a bucket of Brut and local fresh fruit and goodies. A very nice touch. Additionally, when we asked for a second turndown service, rose petals were left on mats with slippers by the bed and the tub was filled with a layer of water and beautiful rose petals. Also a very nice touch. Thank you One & Only for such a wonderful stay. Please branch out to European destinations like the Amalfi Coast and Provence. We notice that you are opening in Montenegro soon. We were there last year and we know you will do well! Good luck in Europe!

I think people who rate this place highly mustn't travel much. It's very expensive for what it is. It needs a refurb in some areas. There are no harbor views but location is convenient. Some of the individual staff were good but bound by union rules. Try getting breakfast before 6:30 am before an early flight. The public areas are noisy and the lobby elongated and gets congested when groups are assembling. It probably suffers from a compromised design but it doesn't feel like. A 5 star hotel although they charge like one.

It's our first visit to Cape Town and we are really pleased that we have chosen wisely to stay at One&Only. Decor, ambience, location and room size all excellent. Most memorable is the service. Absolutely outstanding! Whoever provided the training should be congratulated! On the negative side, we booked a room with mountain view. We did get the view but we're given the lowest floor -- 1st. For the price we paid, we expected something better! Hence, is Hotel value for money? I wouldn't know until I visit next time and try another hotel of same price range!
