Caesar Augustus in Capri, Italy

Regally poised on a cliff 1,000 feet above the sea, Hotel Caesar Augustus carries on a tradition of extravagance that once made Italy's Isle of Capri a playground for Roman emperors. At this stunning Relais & Chateaux property, you might stay in a suite named after its spectacular views of Mount Vesuvius or the Egyptian king who lived in it for a year. Guest rooms are equally enticing, with their private balconies gazing across the Bay of Naples. From the marvelous infinity pool to the celebration of regional flavors at Lucullo Terrace, each detail is a seductive celebration of good living.

From your base at this former 19th-century private manor, you will savor unparalleled tranquility, while at the same time enjoying access to the island's dramatic coastline, citrus groves and terraced vineyards. Trace ancient Roman routes as you explore the legacy of Emperor Tiberius, including the excavations of Damecuta and the intriguing Villa Jovis. The chairlift to the top of Mount Solaro boasts breathtaking views, while a boat trip around the island will take you to the famed Blue Grotto, where the refraction of light has long captivated artists.

Can't beat the luxury and hospitality of Caesar Augustus. The grand terrace at sunset is one of a kind. We hope to be back very soon. Breakfast is spectacular and included with your stay, and the infinity pool over looking the Mediterranean is breath taking.

Yes it's true, Here on Capri Island in Annacapri is the most spectacular hotel/resort that sits high above the cliffs of the island that has views that only the Roman rulers were able to enjoy. You are up there with the Roman gods enjoying the views and serenity of this piece of heaven on earth. The hotel has one of the finest restaurants as well as the most amazstaff that waits on your every need. The rooms are classically elegant and every room has a special view. Away from the maddening crowds you will know why this was Cesar Augustus's summer palace. A place created by Paulo and Francesco Seniorini This visit was my our 17 visit. Yes, it is true!

My loyal followers might have already noticed that I get around quite a bit. Finally I have in my 30 years five star traveling experience found the most amazing and gorgeous hotel on this planet, the Carsar Augustus on the island of Capri. The raffiness and the splendor of this place on the Cliffside 300 m above the golfo di napoli is truly beyond description. The same is true for the decoration, The service and the amazing love to details. Do not wait, go there and enjoy Capri

I don't do drugs, but I think this hotel is like tripping on LSD: the colors are like you hit the saturation 10x in your computer. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous. The smell of fresh rosemary is overpowering. The gardens are beautiful. The infinity pool will make you forget every hassle, every problem you have ever had. It is so beautiful it's indescribable. Overall probably one of the best hotels I've stayed ever. My only criticism is the restaurant. We had dinner twice at the hotel. Both times we had the large tasting dinners (the large and Eduardo's choice). Both times we were thoroughly disappointed. The views are beautiful but the food was nothing so special.

it was pretty much a last minute trip and the hotel only had a garden suite available...but it was a magic stay. the hotel is an old palace built for a russian price, it´s placed litterally on the edge of anacapri, which means almost 400m above sea level... it´s an old mansion, so you won´t find the same modern/contemporary design than in other hotels like the JK palace, but the scenery from that hotel is the best from the all island, you have a wonderful view on napoli and the vesuvio, a beautiful sunset on the sea, the view on ischia and this dramatic view on the sea below. the owner and his son makes sure that all employees understand that this hotel is like an old lady/gentleman that you have to treat with respect. a great breakfast, 2 dedicated bartenders, a good restaurang, a quite fruit/vegetable park and a gifted masseuse/therapist. the double infinity pool is so enjoyable that you may even sacrifice a day on the beach to stay at the hotel... I strongly recommend this hotel for those who want to enjoy the sunset every evening... note that you ll have to take cabs to and from capri, so it will cost you between 40 and 120 euro per day if you travel back and fourth to the beach of capri.
