The hotel is old and has not been remodeled, with precarious rooms. You would never think it's a Melia. There is a musty smell, and the furniture in the rooms is old and broken. This description suggests that the establishment falls far short of the standards one might expect from a Melia-branded hotel, typically known for luxury and quality. If considering a stay, one might look for alternatives that offer updated facilities and better maintenance

This is a horrible place to stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

This is an old hotel and the facilities are not at all as described in pictures. The carpets are dirty and VERY HUMID. If you have respiratory problems avoid this hotel. The rooms are big, but lack proper water systems, the windows cannot be opened which make worse the humidity problem and lack basic things like hair dryer... The employees are not friendly which is a shame because Venezuelan are great people in general. Do not allow them to fool you, THIS IS NOT A FIVE STARS HOTEL. I would give it not more that two stars.

Worst experience ever!

I stayed one night in this hotel during the pandemic, and definitely I won't recommended it. To begin, the air conditioner didn't work, neither the TV, a technician came he "fixed it" and still not working. There's no hand towel, and just one big towel. And the worst, there's no water to drink! They give a complimentary water bottle, but if you want more you will have to pay $7.50 for each one. ($2.50 for the water and 5 for the delivery!!?? ) what kind of hotel charge you for room service??! I asked if I could go to pick up myself and she said no, you cannot!! Stay away from this place!!!

use to be a good hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed February 27, 2020

Good hotel, it was beautiful and very clean. The the swimming pool is very far from the rooms and there is no handicaped access to it; Food variety poor. The staff are really nice and try to help. The room service is poor too. Melia Caracas Hotel is in the middle of Caracas, next to a big shopping centre with restaurants and shopping but the zone is not very good and you can not walk at night, and the security is no good, In Melia Caracas Hotel you will feel relatively safe, you have a gym, spa, massage but the machines are old. The hotel rate was reasonable considering the other five star hotels in the city and what they are charging. The hotel itself is old. Room was ok. Metro station is five minutes walk away but be aware of shoplifting comming in or out and is very crowed the Metro. We visited the spa and had massages. a clean and central place to stay in Caracas at a reasonable rate when you compare with other hotels for international travelers but be aware of the security.

Very nice hotel, it was beautiful and very clean, very luxurious. There were too many steps to get to the swimming pool. If you are on a wheelchair, you will not have access to the pool area. Food variety poor, but there are very nice dishes you could eat. The staff are really nice and will attend to all your needs. The room service is not as good as I had expected and thee is no effort to make it easier to order from the room. Melia Caracas Hotel is in the middle of Caracas, a big shopping centre right next door with restaurants and shopping, you can find anything to buy in the shopping, clothes, shoes, lots of food restaurants and a cinema, In Melia Caracas Hotel you will feel safe and if you prefer to stay in the hotel all day, there is plenty to do (apart from the swimming pool), you have a very luxurious gym, spa, yacusi.
