Reviews for Carefree Resort & Conference Center
This was our "girls" vacation and the three of us are very experienced SPA JUNKIES. We LOVED Civana from beginning to end. We recieved a warm welcome from Kyle Treat, the general manager, and from each member of the staff we interacted with during our stay. The property has a casual contemporary Palm Springs vibe and it's beautiful!!! We enjoyed ordering drinks at the pool and eating delicious meals in their two restaurants. The classes were original and well designed. Lisa guided us on two hikes to ancient ruins and she was professional, the views spectacular!!!. These three Spa Junkies can't wait to return to Civana when their "New" spa building opens in the fall!!!

The accommodations at Civana are superb for relaxation, conversation, and renewal. If planning a business meeting or retreat, make sure to build in adequate free time to explore the area or relax onsite.
From the outside it “appears” the formally Carefree Inn has undergone a dramatic transformation. It has a modern vibe with a lot of white (walls, floors and light fixtures). The rooms have new functional furniture and the bathrooms “appear” to have been redone. We stayed here 3 nights for a golf tournament. The first evening the air conditioning wasn’t working so we were moved to a different room. The next morning we discovered the shower head was broken in the new room. Finally the last day the smell of sewage in the building, hallway and our room was so overpowering we opened every window and door trying to get enough fresh air so we could shower and leave. The style was updated, but the substance was left behind.
Was scheduled to go to a conference there. The property is well maintained and super clean and elegant. Staff are utmost professionals. Excellent food. It is kind of out of the way though and there are virtually no vending machines for snacks, other than soda. Also, they are mindful of light pollution so keep area lights dim at night. Older folks like me would do well to bring a flashlight.

Just got back from a girls trip to the beautiful Civana spa in Carefree, it was wonderful ! The rooms are newly remodeled and beautiful, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Michelle is a very good masseuse and I enjoyed my massage, it was a good reward after a spin class offered at the resort. We also tried the TRX class with Lisa and really enjoyed it. The classes were interesting and we all experienced new things. We also enjoyed the juice bar. We look forward to returning once the new spa is up and running this fall. Best of luck to the new owners !!
