Carmel Valley Ranch has always been an escape with plenty of room to roam, to explore, to discover. Where people rekindle romances, reunite with friends and family, revive spirits, or simply get away and play. And these days, play is more important than ever. Our all-suite accommodations are where the luxury of resort living meets the call of the wild. Swap stories by the fireplace. Gaze at the stars from your private deck as you savor a glass of wine from our own vineyard. You’ll be comfy, carefree, and most of all, captivated. The only Pete Dye-designed bentgrass golf course in Northern California is right here at Carmel Valley Ranch, and no matter how you slice it (or hook it), this par-70 layout offers something for all players: tactical shots, dramatic elevation changes and incredible scenery. Our talented artisans add a unique twist to experiences at The Ranch—join them and hang out with horses, say hello to honeybees, greet our goats, and more.

Visited Carmel Valley Ranch for our anniversary, and overall it was a very nice stay. Carmel Valley is a beautiful area to visit, relax, and enjoy a short getaway. Highlights: • Beautiful ranch-style property with plenty of space • Great location in Carmel Valley • Upgraded to a suite, but chose the Oak Studio because of the outdoor soaking tub • Outdoor tub was a great feature • Lots of included activities around the ranch • Easy garden/feed hiking trail, very doable and enjoyable • Friendly staff overall • Jeff, one of the lead staff members, was professional, kind, and very helpful As an Explorist member, I appreciated the upgrade option. We were offered a suite, but we decided to stay in the Oak Studio because the suite did not have an outdoor tub. The room was comfortable, although we could hear footsteps from the room above. It was noticeable but not too bothersome. The property itself is beautiful, with acres of ranch space and various activities included. We enjoyed visiting the garden and doing the feed/hiking trail, which was easy and relaxing. It is definitely a nice place for couples, families, or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. One issue was the EV charging information. The website showed complimentary EV charging for non-Tesla vehicles with valet parking, but during check-in there seemed to be confusion among the staff. I was told it was no longer free and that only two hours of complimentary charging may be offered. However, the website seemed to state otherwise, so this information should be updated or clarified for guests. Thankfully, Jeff stepped in and handled the situation professionally. He was able to accommodate us and fully charge the vehicle, which I really appreciated. The only disappointing part was the first-night valet interaction regarding EV charging. The valet staff member did not seem very caring or guest-focused at that time. However, Jeff made a big difference and turned the situation around with excellent service. Breakfast at Valley Kitchen was complimentary for Globalist members. The menu was somewhat limited, and one morning they offered a regular-style buffet. It was not anything too special, but the staff were kind and welcoming. Overall, Carmel Valley Ranch is a beautiful and relaxing property with great activities and a peaceful atmosphere. There were some communication issues with EV charging, but the way Jeff handled it made the experience much better. Highly recommend, especially for a relaxing anniversary or weekend trip.

The resort was great, lots of amenities, great for the kids, the food is subpar at the pool. One incident happened at the pool and the manager assured me that he would be in touch and I never heard back from them.

Carmel Valley ranch was beautiful. The resort is a bit dated but the setting makes up for it. We played golf one afternoon and enjoyed it thoroughly. Only complaint was the service was slow in the restaurant and the schedule of the provided shuttle that runs through the resort. This resort is on the top of a hill and walking to the different areas can be a challenge for some. Knowing when the shuttles are coming and going would be a nice improvement.

The property is maintained well. The staffs in the activities are experienced and friendly. However, there are several things that I don't believe this resort is a category 8 level resort. 1. Wrong bill for checks - our final invoice has a dinner check we never ordered; 2. not a great place for young kids -> no place to take naps when the late checkout is unavailable 3. I filled information before hands but there is no follow ups on activities recommendations and how to attend those activities 4. safety issues: when we were having breakfast at the restaurant with a 2-year-old. We were brought to a couch with low tables. No high chair is available and it is very easy that the 2-year-old falling off the couch. I think all those details need to be improved to demonstrate this is a high end family friendly resort.
