About the Hotel

Carmel Valley Ranch has always been an escape with plenty of room to roam, to explore, to discover. Where people rekindle romances, reunite with friends and family, revive spirits, or simply get away and play. And these days, play is more important than ever. Our all-suite accommodations are where the luxury of resort living meets the call of the wild. Swap stories by the fireplace. Gaze at the stars from your private deck as you savor a glass of wine from our own vineyard. You’ll be comfy, carefree, and most of all, captivated. The only Pete Dye-designed bentgrass golf course in Northern California is right here at Carmel Valley Ranch, and no matter how you slice it (or hook it), this par-70 layout offers something for all players: tactical shots, dramatic elevation changes and incredible scenery. Our talented artisans add a unique twist to experiences at The Ranch—join them and hang out with horses, say hello to honeybees, greet our goats, and more.

Reviews for Carmel Valley Ranch

Overpriced for the experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

When you are paying about a thousand dollars a night for a room, you expect top notch service. We had mixed service across our two night stay. The resort offers a membership, which brings in what seemed to be a significant population on the weekend. The pool was crowded on a Sunday, with no enforcement of any kind. We saw a mom drop her toddler with puddle jumpers in the hot tub and walk away (signs state parent must be present), we say kids throwing footballs in the pool and someone get hit in the head, and more. The splash pad was also broken on arrival, though service quickly addressed the problem. The experiences are unique but low value for the money. You can pay $75 for your toddler to feed the animals for an hour. (Where the shuttle to take those kids to the ranch was 10 minutes delayed. Toddlers do not like to wait). We expected a more seamless experience and were left disappointed.

Another Spectacular Stay!

Carmel Valley Ranch is pure magic! We are so grateful for another fabulous stay at our #1 favorite West Coast getaway. The incredible CVR team, stunning grounds, delicious farm-to-table cuisine, amazing activities, generous suites with heavenly signature bath products, and even nightly social s'mores - everything here delights. Having visited previously during the fall, winter, and summer, we were excited to return to CVR for Easter this time. Springtime at CVR is wonderful! Highlights and special thanks from our latest visit: Is there anything that Director of Rooms JASON doesn't do? From warmly interacting with guests to re-filling the lobby water dispenser to driving the shuttle, this superhuman hospitality hero was everywhere! We were so impressed by him and his history, from starting as a graveyard shift valet and working his way up. Jason's graciousness and tireless work ethic make him an exemplary leader at the ranch. A *huge thank you* to the lovely JOSARA who kindly upgraded us to a Forest Suite and gifted cute toys to the littles in our group! While we were exploring the garden - which was magnificent in springtime - MARK invited our little ones to help plant pumpkin seeds, which was such a fun treat for them! He elevated our garden visit to magical! From chicken feeding to the Easter egg hunt to goat herding, we saw LANCE working hard all over the ranch. Thank you very much also to SAL and MILES for hosting such a fun Little Ranchers activity! The mini wheelbarrows were too cute! JOSE's friendliness and thoughtfulness made meals at Valley Kitchen such a pleasure as well as a feast for the taste buds! Big thank you as always to KIRSTEN for leading CVR's massive activities program! We enjoyed every moment of Little Ranchers, honey tasting, and our first CVR Easter egg hunt. Kirsten, ever thoughtful, made the egg hunt even more special by surprising our littles with Easter goodie baskets! JEFF gallantly shepherded large groups of guests for the Easter egg hunts - what a warm and thoughtful soul! REBECAH - thank you for offering late checkout, which helped us soak in a little more CVR and also made for a smoother drive home. The gorgeous property first attracted us to CVR, but it's the extraordinary team who keep us returning time and again! Can't wait to see you all again soon!

We had a lovely girls weekend at Carmel Valley Ranch. Our guest services representative Dani went above and beyond to welcome us. Her costumer service was unparalleled, she is a gem. The rest of the staff friendly and helpful.

A Hidden Gem in the Hills of Carmel

We stayed here in early November for my wife’s birthday through the Fine Hotels & Resorts program and couldn’t have been happier. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgraded room that felt more like a beautiful condo. It was spacious, luxurious, and complete with two fireplaces, including one in the bedroom. The entire stay was peaceful and relaxing, with everything spotless and well cared for.

A slice of heaven!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is unlike ANY Hyatt property! It is 500 acres of sprawling beauty complete with a little farm on property. We were there for a wedding so most of the meals and events were taken care of by the wedding. We had amazing service from the Ranch and the staff and property were truly “ a slice of heaven!” Thank you!!
