Roomy accommodation, friendly efficient staff and enjoyed the golf.

This was our third visit to the Quinta da Marinha Hotel in Cascais near Lisbon Portugal. It has now become an IHG Hotel Vignette Collection hotel but has lost none of its charm. My wife and I have just spent 2 weeks from 10th September celebrating my wife's birthday. Our accommodation is in one of their the Townhouses outside the hotel. The quality of the accommodation with large lounge/ kitchen area plus a huge bedroom upstairs and on suite Shower room and toilet provide excellent facilities. There is a second smaller bedroom and shower. which would be ideal for a family with kids. Our package taken with Golfkings Scotland included 14 noghts with daily full breakfast in the hotel and six games of Golf on the excellent hotel course. The fantastic staff are a great reason we come back, with the front of house team led by Luiza Silva being a vital component in our enjoyment. Luiza is a fantastic role model for any team leader and she is a super human being. The breakfast staff look after our every need and the cooked to order omelettes are excellent. The on site 18 hole golf course is ideal for most standard of golfer providing a test for all. The knowledgeable club house staff and starter Carlos provide great information. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a break close to Cascais which allows easy access to Lisbon [45 mins on train] plus Sintra, Ericiera and the west coast. Lisbon airport only 40 mins from Cascais.

I'm no stranger to leaving scathing reviews for poor service. Today is the opposite. After 16 hours in airports and on planes, my eyes are stinging from tiredness. But my body won't let me sleep until I give credit where it's due. Bibi checked us in with about as first class service as there is. The thoroughness and kindness at this resort are on par with the best we've experienced anywhere in the world. Sebastian appeared out of nowhere and had our bags loaded and on the way to our room before I had my passport back in my pocket. He gave us a thorough room tour and was as polite and efficient as could be. Miguel and Luisa handled our requests in less than 2 minutes. Miguel has a great personality and he's funny. He said Luisa was his boss, but he was so funny we couldn't tell if he was serious. Luisa was happy to assist with whatever we needed, and always with a smile. Everything was super clean, stocked and lacking nothing, from soup to nuts. We have everything we need here and so much more. We'll be back and we haven't left yet!
