Another great stay
This was my second stay at The Charleston Place. Once again, I found most staff members to be lovely. Roosevelt stood out for his excellent service, his caring demeanor, and his lunch recommendation. The bellman who picked up our luggage at checkout was also very good at his job, looking around the room to make sure that we didn’t leave anything behind. There was a gentleman at the transportation desk who seemed unhelpful because our question didn’t directly pertain to him. If I’m remembering correctly, my husband and I encountered him when we were at the property about three years ago. It’s my opinion that if you are in the service industry, you should try your best to maintain a friendly attitude. Overall, we had another great stay at this hotel. The bedding and beds were a standout feature.

Excellent
Everything was just perfect! The men in valet were excellent and the ladies at front desk … so accommodating. Most fantastic experience was the beds, the gym and Alexey at the coffee bar. He is a very nice guy and so great to see for a coffee first thing in the am . Alexey has the best attitude and disposition! A bonus or a raise is a must for him , he is an asset to the establishment! 🎈

Chris was so knowledgeable and recommended the best cocktails, they turned out to be the best cocktails I’ve ever had! He recommended the Dark Horse and Devil’s Crossroads and they were 12/10. Chris knows his stuff and has such a good vibe. Thank you so much!

I traveled with my family (husband, and two children ages 2 and 4) on a Luxury Link auction package to Charleston Place in August. True good service is making travel effortless for the visitor, and Charleston Place delivered. There was no problem in bringing our children. We arrived about an hour before official check-in, but our room was ready and keys were given. Concierge had pre-printed directions to many of the sites. Finally, our Luxury Link credits for spa and dinner was automatically applied at check-out, so the check-out sheet that I received the morning of departure already had the correct amount that needed to be charged. Effortless! The Club floor included an expanded continental buffet breakfast, as well as drinks and finger foods throughout most of the day. This was very convenient and the breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres were particularly extensive. What makes Charleston Place stand out from myriad other places to stay in Charleston - many more historic or quaint or intimate - is the amenities offered. The pool with surrounding deck and kiddie pool is a very pleasant spot. The spa treatments were wonderful and very professional. Dinner at Charleston Grill was our favorite meal of the trip. The flavors were complex and fresh - this is not your typical fried and heavy Southern cuisine. I can see Charleston Place appealing to business travelers, couples needing pampering, families with older children, and yes, families with young children. All in all, a service-oriented hotel in a wonderful location with superior amenities and appealing to many different types of travelers.
