Top notch in every aspect. Beautiful hotel, elegant and spacious lobby with lots of sitting areas, located in the best area of Charleston. The service here is impeccable, from the bellmen and front desk to the restaurant staff and housekeeping. Don’t miss the brunch buffet at the Palmetto Cafe or the cocktails at Thoroughbreds. Shoutout to our bellman Roosevelt!

We had a wonderful one-night stay at The Charleston Place. Every aspect of our stay was top-notch, from room appointments to common area decor, bar and food excellence, and spa experiences. Most notable were the friendly, attentive staff and the convenience to downtown Charleston attractions.

Chose Charleston Place for the location; right by everything! Not a very fancy person, but the ambiance of the hotel is captivating. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. Room was pretty, but the ac is very loud. We dealt with it but that was the only negative. Overall great experience

Very comfortable room. Personnel is highly trained for quality of service, specially in the main restaurant. Perfect location to visit historical Charleston. Parking onsite very convenient. Overall prices in line with quality and convenience offered. One downer: like many hotel nowadays, the Charleston Place, when billing room service, add a delivery fee (fair) a 22% room service charge (I see this as a forced tip, fair also), but has a line in the bill for tip. The latter is a bit too much. Quality hotel like tithe Charleston Place should refrain from this practice to conserve their well derived quality reputation. Recommend staying there.

I traveled with my family (husband, and two children ages 2 and 4) on a Luxury Link auction package to Charleston Place in August. True good service is making travel effortless for the visitor, and Charleston Place delivered. There was no problem in bringing our children. We arrived about an hour before official check-in, but our room was ready and keys were given. Concierge had pre-printed directions to many of the sites. Finally, our Luxury Link credits for spa and dinner was automatically applied at check-out, so the check-out sheet that I received the morning of departure already had the correct amount that needed to be charged. Effortless! The Club floor included an expanded continental buffet breakfast, as well as drinks and finger foods throughout most of the day. This was very convenient and the breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres were particularly extensive. What makes Charleston Place stand out from myriad other places to stay in Charleston - many more historic or quaint or intimate - is the amenities offered. The pool with surrounding deck and kiddie pool is a very pleasant spot. The spa treatments were wonderful and very professional. Dinner at Charleston Grill was our favorite meal of the trip. The flavors were complex and fresh - this is not your typical fried and heavy Southern cuisine. I can see Charleston Place appealing to business travelers, couples needing pampering, families with older children, and yes, families with young children. All in all, a service-oriented hotel in a wonderful location with superior amenities and appealing to many different types of travelers.
