You cannot beat the location and the service provided at this Classic high end establishment. The staff are just the best. Our room six was great with a working fireplace had one slight drawback. Six steps up the gigantic bathroom. Our porch was lovely even in the cooler weather. The happy hour and morning coffee service were memorable. The breakfast was perfect. The parking lot was easy and porter staff helpful. The desk staff was personable. We will be back,

My favorite experience in a 5-day visit to Charleston? Staying at the Wentworth Mansion. Visiting Charleston means tours that allow you to *observe* history--but staying at the Wentworth invites you to **step into** history. We stayed at 3 hotels across a 4-night adventure, and after the Wentworth on nt #2, I kept wishing we'd stayed there the whole time. Even though the price point was higher, it exceeded the experience at the other two hotels by such leaps and bounds, it would have been worth it dollar-for-dollar. The spaciousness of the rooms, the abundance of amazing food and drink and the unique, walkable location through some of Charleston's most amazing streets...just spectacular. You're about a mile from Meeting Street, a mile from the Charleston Visitor's center (via a walk through the beautiful College of Charleston campus), and in proximity to jaw-dropping homes and history. The staff was so warm and welcoming. They made us feel like we were relatives who arrived for a visit. And, the breakfast at Circa 1886 was BEYOND amazing. Pastries and coffee available in the drawing room for early risers, and the food and wine at happy hour was divine. You can sit inside or in the beautiful gardens. Every room is unique - we stayed in a Mansion Room, which was huge, had a working gas fireplace, giant windows, and more. This experience is one I (and my traveling companion) will remember for decades to come.

Wonderful ambience, like being in someone’s historic home in the Low Country. Attentive and cordial staff. Inviting hors d’oeuvres and wine in the afternoon. Great restaurant.

Wonderful location and a spectacular place. Truly the staff makes you feel like family and wants you to feel like you are at home. The rooms are beautiful, the woodwork amazing and the entire grounds wonderful. The appetizers and wine were delicious, where else even gives you a nightcap? Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious. Free beverages in the room and they even leave homemade chocolates when they turn down the bed in the evening. We don’t want to leave, it was the most amazing place we have ever stayed and we have traveled the world. We will definitely be back, and we look forward to it!

We had a one night stay at Wentworth Mansion and wished it could have been 10 nights. The inn is located within walking distance of King Street, University of Charleston and lots of historical locations. We were greeted into the reception hall by a wonderfully warm staff and were seated at the desk in front of the most delightful fresh flower arrangement. Small touches like fresh flowers througout the inn and curtains with a cotton plant print (a nod to the original owner) did not go unnoticed and made our stay very special. Our room was emormous, complete with a working fireplace and the most luxurious robes we're ever had the pleasure to wear. Classical music was playing upon our entry which helped transport us to a feeling that we were enjoying our stay just after the beautiful home was built. Our bathroom was also spacious and our windows overlooked the Cooper River Bridge. The ammenites in the bathroom were L'Occitaine and smelled heavenly. We were offered a lovely charcuterie spread complete with wine on the sun porch in the early evening, and before we went to bed, we enjoyed a nightcap of Port, Sherry and Brandy in the living room. Our breakfast at Circa 1886 was included with our stay. It was expertly prepared and our service was top notch. Our server sent us home with buttery croissants because breakfast was more than we could eat. Above everything else was the welcoming, hosptiable and knowledgeable staff. Tristan, Ryder and Fiona made our stay absolutley perfect.

“I want to tell you that my wife and I had a fantastic vacation at the Wentworth Mansion in Charleston, S.C. The mansion was an unbelievable pleasure. The room was exquisite, the view breathtaking. The service could not have been better. The dinner at Circa 1886 was all we could have asked for to celebrate our anniversary. The little extra touches made it an evening we will not forget.”
