Reviews for Wentworth Mansion
I absolutely LOVED this hotel. Quaint and luxurious. The room was enormous with a fireplace and two person hot tub. The breakfast included at Circa 1888 was delicious and the staff was professional and welcoming. If you can afford it - STAY here - you won't regret it. It's walkable to just about everything we wanted. We were just passing though so we only stayed one night - we most definitely will be back.
We loved our stay at the Wentworth mansion. While it is pricey, the room is incredibly unique, spacious, and the service is amazing. We loved our fireplace, great size bathroom, and nice touches for guests (wine hour, games, DVDs, etc). We also thought the breakfast was excellent. Things are pretty walkable from there and they have a great parking area that is easy to access.

We were married in Charleston on May 17, 2017 and decided to go with a different type of hotel experience than usual. I am a Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton type of girl, so I was a little hesitant about booking a smaller boutique hotel. I was very impressed with the service! As soon as we pulled in the parking lot, a lady escorted us inside to get checked in. They were so gracious to allow me to have my wedding band to be shipped to them from the the jeweler & kept in the safe the day before we arrived. Butler was awesome in helping us with recommendations and a car service. Trayvon was amazing! Such a nice guy and always willing to go above and beyond! All of the staff we had encounters with were top notch! The service is not lacking here in the least bit! The grounds are beautiful. The room was beautiful. Loved the oversized tub with jets and the double headed shower. However, I feel compelled to complain about the bed. I could tell it was sagging on both sides before we ever pulled the covers back. This is our third night and I'm awake because my back is killing me from this terrible mattress. We did not sleep well the past two nights. For $500-600 a night, you would think they could afford to replace the mattress. Honestly, it was so bad we wanted to just go home today, but hated to lose the money we paid, so we stayed. I really hate to give 4 stars when the staff and everything else was so nice, but the bed is an essential part of any hotel stay, and this bed was probably the worst hotel bed I have ever slept on. :/ I saw other reviews regarding the mattresses too, so obviously it is an issue. It's a simple fix, so maybe they can get it resolved for future guests. I haven't told them yet, but will mention it before we leave tomorrow.

We stayed for our 20th anniversary for our first trip to Charleston. We stayed in a manor suit which was huge and a nice looking room. Bed was a little lumpy but comfortable. Shower was big with two shower heads which was helpful. Staff were all super nice and helpful and brought us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Turn downs every night. Included Hors d'oeuvres and wine were so so but nice touch to have the happy hour. Pastries were delicious and breakfast very good. Only 4 blocks from king street and easy walk to market street. We didn't touch our car in 3 days. Includes parking breakfast and water/soda in room
From the warm welcome we received upon arrival to the cold bottle of water as we were leaving for the airport, there was no lapse in attention to detail, helpful advice, and wonderful service. The mansion is beautiful and kept up really well. Our room had 2 working fireplaces, really neat antique furniture, and an extremely comfortable bed. As someone who is generally skeptical of hotel restaurants, Circa 1886 was excellent. The location was excellent. The spa was excellent. Really outstanding all around.
