First of all, there is nothing new in this review that hasn't been said by others but it's worth posting from a British perspective as we seem to be the only two at the resort which is predominantly focused on the US and Incentive Group market. The staff are excellent and with a few exceptions (mainly the younger restaurant staff) were genuinely very friendly and accommodating which is the main thing we will take home from our honeymoon experience. When we had an issue with noise from an adjacent room on our first night our guest relations manager moved us immediately and arranged a bottle of Prosecco on ice that evening for the inconvenience which was a lovely gesture and goes to show just how seriously they take the FS ethos. The pool/beach team were amazing and attentive and the opportunity to use complimentary non-motorised beach toys a great touch. The resort is quite large but you never feel like there are lots of people around and despite the rooms not quite being upto the standard or other FS properties I have visited (Langkawi for example) we were more than happy with our room as it befitted the rest of the resort beautifully and was always kept immaculately clean by the FS team. Now onto the catch, and for us it was one that would prevent us from returning to this particular property again in a hurry. The staff are friendly - yes, but you are paying between 60-100 USD a day on top of your room rate for them to be that way. This fee is before the 18% service charge they place on everything you order - and believe me, they are super keen to soft-sell at every opportunity. The food on the resort is okay but the cost astounding by the time you've added the taxes and the service charge. We only ate here twice (on principle) because, although we are happy to pay FS prices, it just seemed so disproportionate to what you were actually eating. We shared a cheese pizza and had a drink each on the first day which came to nearly $80 Instead we chose to eat at the three great bars/restaurants down the beach and also at a great place to the north of the island (although there is a premium for arranging a taxi from the hotel of course). I can see why so many Americans come back time and time again because it does have a family feel but I fear that unless something is done to address the crazy food and beverage prices then the resort is going to struggle in the future. Like our world famous but ailing British Airways, brands like this will find that there are new challengers on hand who offer a service that is equal at a price that is proportionate. This is what we found on the first two weeks of our honeymoon as we travelled around other 5* hotels and resorts in Canada and the US. If you are the kind of person that doesn't mind paying through the nose for the 'brand' (and there were a lot of them around us at the pool) then this is the place for you but unfortunately it took the shine off an otherwise great resort for us. For FS management - review your pricing policy and you might just find that your F&B revenue increases as people will be more willing to stay on resort (lots of deserted restaurants on resort when we were there) Maybe make the service charge less and allow us to reward your staff on a more individual basis. Lovely place. Lovely people. Great if you need an excuse to eat less!

Four seasons Nevis. Not many places except arrivals on a speed boat and then ferry you directly to your room. When you wake in the morning you open your eyes to a tropical paradise. The grounds in the facility are well manicured. There are three pools you are sure to find one that'll keep you happy and don't forget about the ocean .

The hotel is a classic Four Seasons experience. There is a lively pool area for families, and another for quiet. The onsite food was well done at both simple and high end restaurants. Nevis is a small, quiet island, but there was still plenty to do. Taxis were reasonable and a good way to get around. We took one as an island tour for several hours. It was a good way to overview what is out there to decide what to do later. The skiing and other activities run from the hotel were good. They were personalized and the people took the time needed to work with even beginners. We took a snorkeling catamaran trip to St. Kitts to a shipwreck, and that was a lot of fun. For younger people, there is a pottery shop across the island that will give one on one lessons where you make things to take with you. The steel drum lessons were great - he even dealt with one of us with no rhythm or memory. It was a great, relaxing vacation.

A great island and beautiful property! The Four Seasons hotel has been on the island for a long time. Overall, the resort is beautiful, but it's time for some updating (which I understand is actually planned to begin soon). The resort staff was simply terrific across the board - from check-in to management to restaurant staff and the list goes on. So I must add that our check-in started with a call to our room from security that "we've had an incident"! Turns out that somehow my roller bag opened up while being transported from the boat to the dock... and my COMPUTER ended up in the ocean! Wow! After the initial shock, the hotel worked to get me a loaner laptop and were as professional as could be, including covering the cost of the computer. This is a resort where they will take care of you. The entire island has some of the friendliest people we've met. Take an island tour! Ask for "Discipline" at the bell stand and have him give you a tour of the property and visit the monkeys! Go. Enjoy!
