Reviews for Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu
We pulled up to the valet and were helped with our bags. We did advance check in for our 2 night stay and the doorman had our keys ready for us. This seemed like a great idea 24 hours ago however, now it was slightly frustrating. We didn't have our preferences checked, couldn't upgrade, and ended up in an area we wouldn't have selected (We were definitely missing our Hilton Diamond Status here). We ended up with a room on the 1st floor surrounded by a large group who were at the hotel for a work party. The hallway basically sounded like the party was on our floor and not in a function room. Room 166 was of good size, clean, and offered a king size bed. In addition to the noise level the room didn't have a view, the minibar wasn't fully stocked, and the bathroom was way to small. The hotel staff from the doormen to room service were all friendly, patient, and professional. During our stay we went to Bar La Brise drinks and food a few times. The highlights were Le Sour Quebecois (a delicious whiskey based drink), the Salmon with celeriac remoulade and Chips with assorted mayonnaise. On our 2nd day we called for room service twice. Breakfast was wonderful however at lunch was just okay. My husbands sandwich was delicious (I may have stolen a bite). My tuna was good with the exception that I couldn't eat the rice. The rice was inedible to do under cooking. We tried to do some hiking on the hotels trails. My hsuband went downstairs in hopes of finding out more information about the hiking trails and the doorman from the day before hooked us up with a map of the trails and area! The problem was that half of the trail was closed for repairs and we found this out a few km from the hotel. At night we explored the hotel some more. My biggest regret was not venturing into their heated outdoor pool at night! We also visited the casino during our stay. I love being able to walk underneath the hotel to the casino - no need for a jacket! Score! The Roulette table was empty so we decided to just spend some time at the slots. Overall we both agree we would visit hotel again.

Went there week of Thanksgiving. Food was excellent rooms clean and nice. Service top self. Great horse carriage lovely views and great holiday decorations. Very relaxing two days. Must have meals with great deserts.

This hotel is desperately in need of upgrading. The lobby carpet and furniture is worn and the lighting is dim. There are few spaces within the building where one can enjoy. And the gym facilities are primitive.

Everything about the weekend at the Fairmont was amazing! From the staff that welcomed us, to the porters, to the cleaning ladies, to the staff within the hotel that always said hello with a smile. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we are already planning on coming back in the summer. I hear the golf and scenery is amazing :)

We spent a stormy night here in October 2017 and were delighted by the superb room, and lovely feel of the hotel. Very elegant and would certainly stay here again. BUT the food was dire and a terrible let down. The waiting staff were excellent but the food quality was very poor. There was a German menu (avoided) but the other servings were a strange hotchpotch of combinations and food frankly plonked on the plate with no attention to detail and poorly thought through. This was such a shame as this alone will keep me away from this magnificent hotel. There were 4 of us who all felt embarrassed by the enthusiasm and kindness of the waiters let down by a dreadful meal. The final insult was the ridiculous cost. Enough said. The other oddity was the extraordinary cassino which was as tacky as you could get and within 5 minutes of being there I wanted to get out - fast. Hoards of slot machines and no no one smiling. Back to our lovely room and a restful night. Breakfast in the morning was also fairly poor and for us expensive. We received an upgraded room - thanks indeed as it was fantastic but the food.....! For some reason we never discovered why two other restaurents in the hotel were closed. If you do stay here enjoy the rooms but eat elsewhere and marvel at how awful you can make a slot machine barn. It would appear that gambling is about the only reason anyone would stay here now. Las Vegas it is not.
