Rooms not as advertised. Make sure you check if they have an event at the weekend. There are significant differences between the bathrooms shown in the website and what you actually get. I have been staying in hotels for 40 years and this is the first time I ever had a room with two connecting doors. The sound proofing is very bad. Make sure you demand a room without a connecting door. Be aware they they hold noisy weekend events. The “park” side of the hotel is extremely noisy. I would avoid at all costs. The balcony option is really terrible.

Quality & comfort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The staff here is top notch, they really go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. If you can swing it, use an Amex Platinum card. The benefits for booking with them are wonderful (4pm check out, $100 bar or spa credit). I've stayed at this location more than 15 times and it's always impeccably clean.

Good hotel, but expect issues

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The good: the doorman, the check in process, the room comfort and general cleanliness The not so good: 1) the elevator: only one elevator works. The issue happened last year. On a busy weekend you can expect to wait a long time to use the elevator. 2) breakfast: our package included complimentary breakfast. The restaurant prioritizes outside reservations and you may have to wait over an hour for a table. The staff at the restaurant are polite but it’s crazy to have to wait that long. One morning, we put our name on the list at 830am and got seating at 1015. 3) while it was nice to receive a copy of the bill a head of time, you have to review it. We had some credits that they let us know about at check in. However they weren’t applied at check out until we let them know. Summary: this is most comfortable hotel in the area. However the same issues occur each time I visit.

Best hotel in Charlotte

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Excellent quality hotel. My wife and i stayed here twice, as a break flying to the Caribbean and again on our return. The room was quite comfortable, and the bedding amazing. My wife wants to purchase their pillows. The garden side had some nice views, the otherside faces a freeway and some shopping. We stayed on both sides of the hotel a week apart and experienced no street noise. There is a construction project across a park on the garden side with minimal noticeable noise. The only downside of the hotel is if you have limited transportation or will be eating late. You'll need an uber or use the hotel transportation for dinner. The in room dining is ok. We had inroom dining for a great breakfast, dinner was also good, but their late night menu is extremely limited and not very good, i wouldn't recommend it. We tended to use uber eats if having a late night meal, this would be your best option. Overall, I believe this is the best hotel stay in Charlotte and would definitely returning if we pass through again.
