This was our second visit to Ellenborough Park. We took advantage of a special offer and so the hotel was full. The hotel is beautiful and very well kept and clean. Rooms and views are exceptional. However, there just were not enough staff to properly take care of all the guests so whilst the service was very polite and professional, it was extremely slow and things were forgotten. Unfortunately, our stay was not a 5 star experience and felt extremely busy. I raised this with the hotel who have replied to say that there were staff shortages due to illness and to offer us a discounted rate on a future stay. Hopefully our experience this time was a blip and not refelective of usual standards.

This is a lovely hotel with buckets of character. Our room was a good size with an antique 4 poster bed, the en suite was huge with a walk in shower and large bath. Both were exceptionally clean. We ate in the hotel restaurant, whilst maybe a little pricey, the quality of food was excellent. A great menu with great service. The hotel itself overlooks Cheltenham Racecourse so is a perfect choice for a day at the races. The spa, whilst small, is clean and decorated well. Overall a great stay with a great dinner. Would recommend!

Visit quite often, stopped off yesterday (16/1) for afternoon tea. Tea for two and scones; good quality tea and delicious scones, served well in a lovely room! Hotel has excellent toilet facilities which add value too!

This is a beautiful hotel. Staff are excellent. Rooms are excellent and this is a dog friendly hotel. Dinner was lovely in the horsebox only I thought the Apple crumble was a bit lacking it felt like it wax made from a tin of bramley sauce with some cheap crumble on the top and at £8 A bit steep. Breakfast was delightful served to a very high standard could have been hotter. Our only gripe and a word of warning the hotel policy is that when you arrive they deduct a £100 from your card on a pre authorization which is released when you leave but it takes days before you get it back into your account. Tut tut. On the face of it for a 5* establishment I have never encountered this before. It is very handy for Cheltenham.

Magnificent, from the drive off the road, up the drive, with a superb view of Cheltenham Race Course. Reception provides a very warm welcome taken to room, and you feel like you are surrounded by history.Relaxing treatment at the Spa, very engaging barman which contributed to a great atmosphere in the bar.Enjoyed the small but well "stocked" fitness room.Breakfast in the Restaurant was memorable for both the room and the faultless service.Only expectation gap was generated by the fried bread, which I was so looking forward to and even though it was beautiful with no exaggeration it was the size of my small finger.
