The rooms are nicely decorated. Authentic British interior style. The fine dining restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday. The only option was the bistro where the food was good but not much variety and bit pricey for what it is. The spa is good. I enjoyed the facial and the therapist was very good however the massage therapist was average I would say. The breakfast service was a mess and the breakfast was not very good. All the tables around were complaining. It's a shame because the hotel itself is very nice. I would say if you are into fine dining then double check the restaurant is opened before you go. The pool was also closed for 2 we couldn't use that. The porter is very nice and friendly man.

Just returned from a 4-night stay in this lovely manor turned hotel and both my wife and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Located a few kilometers from Cheltenham and far from the madding crowd is this blissful and peaceful place. We used this place as a base for exploring Cotswolds and found it most convenient. We were given room 14 which was located at the top of the tower and it has views of the splendid surrounding in 3 directions. The room was spacious enough to accommodate a large bath. Room facilities were modern and excellent. There was also air conditioning. But it might be a bit of a climb for some as there was no lift. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of options. There was a heated pool and spa but we did not use it. But what made the stay memorable was the excellent service rendered by the staff. Friendly, efficient and in particular Jonathan has been most outstanding. One of the best hotel experience for me.

When you first arrive here the building and surroundings are truly breathtaking, what a shame the service is so poor. The food was average we were served chicken with the new potatoes arriving twenty minutes later! My aunt had ordered two meals but only received one, the room they were given had no electricity on one side of the room so the kettle and television didn't work. They complained and were given a different room which wasn't as nice. We were given a room which had dirty wine glasses outside our door! This is a very expensive place to stay and not really worth the money, breakfast was buffet and not good at all.

My wife and I came here for a couple of nights to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary. It was exactly what we were looking for: full of ancient character and charm but not dated and worn out. In a small hotel they don't have enough rooms to keep a decent restaurant going but once it gets too big the whole hotel loses character and becomes anonymous. Ellenborough Park is the perfect balance. We ate in the Brasserie on the first night and the Beaufort restaurant on the second. Both were outstanding for both food and service. I really cannot think of anything that could be improved! They had caught on that it was our anniversary and so a sweet little plate arrived with 'Happy Anniversary' written on it in chocolate and few little sweets. I know that they probably do this every night for anniversary couples but it was still beautifully done and made us feel special :) Our room (No. 12) was in the 'Classic' category and was in a sort of tower, accessed via a spiral staircase. It was immaculate and again difficult to fault. The only slight disappointment was that it only had a shower and no bath. We arrived after a long walk in the hills and had been looking forward to a soak, but to be fair I hadn't spotted that Classic rooms are advertised as only 'selected' rooms having roll top baths. Apart from that it was everything we had hoped for and had a nice view over the lawn. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. In the spirit of honest feedback there were a couple of things that could have been better. The swimming pool was out of action and the Great Hall was half cordoned off due to roof problems. Both of these were beyond the hotel's control. I'd love to give Ellenborough Park a 5 star review because we had such a lovely time there but that seems unfair to those places where there is absolutely nothing to fault. So 4 stars it is. We would certainly have no hesitation in returning to this beautiful place or recommending it to friends. Thank you for making our anniversary so special.

My partner and I chose Ellenborough Park for its perfect location in the Cotswolds area , and the great reviews . Our weekend stay was excellent in every way , with attentive service , a very comfortable room , a first class restaurant serving a memorable dinner , and a wonderful breakfast . Nothing was too much trouble , and we felt pampered and welcome by everyone . Truly a hotel at the top of its game : while it was certainly not inexpensive , we definitely found we got our money's worth . We would unreservedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Cheltenham / Cotswolds area .
