In a destination as dreamy as they come, Shanti Maurice, A Nira Resort makes the island of Mauritius even more enchanting. The property itself is 36 acres, situated between sugarcane fields and powder-soft white sand beach, with the brilliant blue waters of the Indian Ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. In a place as sublime and exotic as this, Shanti Maurice is a perfect haven, providing the kind of quality and comfort that such a spectacular vacation deserves. When it comes to your accommodations, there are no rooms here - only suites and villas, of course, and every one is magazine-spread worthy. All face the ocean, with floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors to bring the bright outdoors in. Furthering the integration with nature, large balconies or patios and stone-lined outdoor rain showers add elements of pleasure and ideal places to relax in peace and private. Despite your far-flung locale, you will be ever still connected with internet access, DVD players, and high definition televisions throughout. Whether you choose to shut off connection to the outside world, or relish in some free time and entertainment, Shanti Maurice is ready to help you do it all in style.

I have stayed at Shanti Maurice several times in the past and always considered it a fantastic hotel with excellent management and staff. Because of those previous experiences, I was excited to finally bring my father for a two night stay. Sadly, this visit was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We experienced seafood poisoning, no running water in the room, and very little assistance or concern from staff or management. The lack of care, professionalism, and basic service was shocking compared to what this property once offered. It is disheartening to see such a dramatic decline in standards. Unfortunately, Shanti Maurice no longer reflects the quality, service, or value expected of a five star resort.

Shanti Maurice Resort and Spa was everything that you can imagine. EVERY Member of staff were friendly and always there with a smile. Bruno in the Star restaurant always started our day with a laugh, the massages (yes we had a few!!) at the Spa were beyond amazing. Brinda in the shop was particularly helpful when I fell in love with a shirt for my husband and they didn’t have his size, within 2 days he was wearing it!! What a lady!! The rooms were exceptionally clean and cool after a hot day by the pool. Overall we couldn’t have spent our week in a lovelier place. Thank you everyone for making it so memorable.

We stayed at this resort and spa for a few days at the end of our holidays in Mauritius, and it was the perfect place to unwind. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We were also lucky to join the sunset cocktail on our first evening, which was a beautiful start to our stay. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and great quality. We also joined some of the activities, such as snorkeling and a Body Balance class, which added to the experience. In the evenings, we enjoyed the bar, the music, and on our last night we had a great dinner at the Rum Shed. I honestly cannot think of any negative points. The only thing to note is that our room was a short walk from the breakfast and dining areas — it didn’t bother us, but some guests might prefer being closer. Next time we might consider booking a villa or a beachfront suite for extra convenience. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing stay. We would happily return.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything about our stay was brilliant. The hotel itself is lovely and the grounds are simply gorgeous. Our room was at the far end of the hotel which suited us perfectly as we needed the walk after meals (there is a buggy service if needed though). The food is of a really high standard - we ate most nights at Stars because the setting is so lovely but we tried the Rum Shed which very good too. The Sunset Cocktail Party was a nice touch and very enjoyable. I had a couple of Spa treatments and they were excellent and we used the Spa area too. There is a schedule of daily activities and although I only managed one it was good and interesting. The staff at the Shanti are very special, nothing was too much trouble and the service was outstanding. Little touches such as knowing your names were really appreciated. They are all a credit to the hotel but Amal deserves a special mention. It was my birthday during our stay and I was treated like a Queen all day. Amal liaised with Mevin to decorate our room and it was wonderful - I felt quite emotional. Our evening meal was also fabulous and I was thoroughly spoilt. Mauritius is a very special place with special people and, if ever we return, it would be to the Shanti Maurice.
