4 nights of unparalleled luxury. The entrance to the hotel is via two beautiful clapboard white buildings with wonderfully helpful staff. That still doesn't prepare you for the short walk which opens up an oasis - a complete feast for the senses. The buildings housing the suites are dotted around the grounds with an historic teak house at the centre. This holds a bar and restaurant and drawing room that are breathtaking. The suite itself was 100 sq metres of colonial style splendour. Inside and outside showers, verandah, sitting room.. I could go on and on....

Absolutely amazing stay from start to finish. Toto our ‘butler’ showed us to our room and quickly added his details to What’s App on my phone so that we could contact him. We contacted Toto several times who was able to suggest and book restaurants and arrange tuk tuks to go into town. The hotel room was really nice with high quality furnishings, fittings and audio system - and the breakfast was of high quality with a good choice. We ate in the wood panelled bar one evening during happy hour which was nice. The front desk were welcoming and helpful - check in and check out was very quick and efficient. A very relaxing stay - not cheap, but highly recommended if you want something special - we would definitely return.

This small hotel is an oasis from the city which is a few minutes away. The central area is an old Thai home that leads to a dining area which has an indoor or outdoor seating area. There is also an international cuisine restaurant that is quite good. There is a pool surrounded by the verdant open area in front of the old house. We had a personal butler who took care of all our arrangements. There are a few restaurants located within walking distance of the hotel right on the river.

We stayed three nights here and would highly recommend it if you want a peaceful place with very attentive staff. Pleasant room, clean and nicely furnished. Pui was our "Butler" and she is fabulous. The breakfasts are really great. The main dining room had a good menu. The French dining room could have a better menu selections. It’s location is close the the markets but when you are on the campus you think you are in a peaceful remote area. We highly recommend 137 Pillars House.

My husband and I recently visited Chiang Mai beginning of march 2018 and what a memorable trip it was! We stayed at 137 Pillars House, boutique hotel located in the Wat Gate area of Chiang Mai, across the river and a couple minutes drive to the center of town. . We were so impressed by their overall quality and service, cleanliness, atmosphere and the teak design of the buildings. The atmosphere gave us a sense of peace and serenity. We stayed in the East Borneo Suite. It's was extremely spacious, very well decorated, with modern amenities, very clean, service was superb, staff were all very friendly. Our suite has an indoor and outdoor shower and a separate Victorian bathtub, as well as an airy vintage veranda overlooking the tropical courtyard. The biggest perk was the complimentary 3rd night and free breakfast and all you can order from the full breafast menu! For the price we paid for the entire stay we felt like it was worth more than what we paid.. We loved the ultimate home-style modern luxury feel of the hotel. It felt quiet and private. We loved every minute of our stay! Highly recommended!! We don't know what's it Iike at the Four Seasons Hotel but 137 Pillars made us feel like royalties in a five star hotel! We hope to return if we are ever in Chiang Mai again!
