We had a great stay at the Centara hotel Chiang mia, the room was amazing, pool was great for chilling out in the heat, the hotel was right by the river not far from the centre, we had breakfast included which was had everything for the whole family, the staff were super helpful, I would definitely recommend staying here.

A Little Old but Still Centara Standard

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I have been twice under previous name of Holidays Inn. All are almost the same. Pool and Fitness are 90% unchanged. The hotel has been renamed twice and Centara is new brand of this hotel ( third name) We can feel "old" but Centara brand may guarantee 4 star for accommodation. Room is quite big enough. I am not so sure which type pf room as I stayed (City View). I enjoyed Fitness Centre in the early morning of Sunday.....Nice River View...Alone at 7 am (Sunday) Ample parking space, few Convenience stores around hotel, closed to river, hospital just right next door, big conference room, Chinese restaurant (very good taste), etc Highly recommended for Business and Family Trip.

Centara needs to give this one some tender loving care.

I use this hotel for writing and study, and for completing consulting reports. The Corner King is perfect. Big desk, separate dressing area. Centara has taken over from Holiday Inn with good and bad results. Breakfast is mainly Asian and catering to large numbers of Korean tourists, so Western dishes are minimal. They used to have excellent bacon, now no bacon. But a good egg bar and plenty of stir fries. The bad news on two fronts. First, the fitness room lockers are in poor shape, broken lockers, broken shower heads, no hot water. The Sauna, however, is great. Second, this hotel is outside of the the center of Chiang Mai, not just outside of the Old Town. Holiday Inn had van service to the Night Market and Sunday Walking Street. Now no vans. Songtheows (red trucks) are much less frequent in front of hotel than in the past, so you need to be able to use Grab for rides. There are tuktuks available outside the hotel, and they are not as expensive as a few years ago. So an option. Fewer service people around. But I have to say that they treat me very well. And I will still go there for my business writing.

Not a 4star hotel.. low level of cleanliness

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I checked and my room wasn’t ready. No problem, I was given tickets for two drinks. Room was ready 15 minutes later. The beds were low and very firm. We walked to are shops for coffee. When we returned to shower, we were grossed out by the bathroom. I have allergies to mold and mildew and it was everywhere! I complained to my tour company and I was moved to a new room. The bathroom was still nasty, but it was better than the first. Pros: Breakfast was plentiful if you like Asian food. Staff was friendly. Loved the fries and wings in the restaurant Cons: Not many American choices for breakfast. Hotel is VERY outdated. Halls need new carpet. Bathrooms are disgusting. Lots of tour groups use this hotel due to affordability. Airlines also use it for pilots. If you are used to US hotel standards, I would encourage you to stay elsewhere

Amazing Place

All together it is a very good hotel for staying some days in Chiang Mai. There are always Tuktuks in front of the hotel Therefore you come quick to the historic district. The breakfast was very good.
