The hotel is very clean and nice. Our room was spacious with a queen bed and separate sofa in another part of the room. The sofa and wire chair were totally useless. We should have made a video of us trying to get comfortable in both - we never did. Posh but not functional. Also, there was a floor heater that we were constantly in a fight with. It was snowing outside, but the room was so hot we had to have the window open. We were both either burning hot or freezing cold during the night. Other than that the location was great, staff was very friendly and the food was good

Room clean. Tablet in room for info and streaming apps like Netflix. Only issue with room was bathtub drain was slow to drain. Prompt service did correct this. There was a room service fee which included wifi and a $10 bar/restaurant credit per day. Decent happy hour in bar with 1/2 off Tito's cocktails.

Stayed here for the weekend and the hotel was great, nice big room, big bathroom, great location. Only downside is that I had to kill two cockroaches in the room during my stay. Perfect walking distance to a lot of things, but easy to get an Uber/lyft from the hotel. Perfect for shopping, sightseeing or just eating and drinking. Area felt safe and fine.

Booked off of a Hotwire HotRate deal. Daily resort fee was extra - not really sure what value this supposedly added. The gym wasn't exceptional, pretty standard. And my friend still had to pay $65/night for parking. Arrived about an hour before stated check in and room was not ready - female staff at desk (tall with long dark hair) didn't have an attitude but wasn't the warmest person I've ever encountered. Was told she would text/call when room was ready and I never received any notification. My friend also had a similar, somewhat awkward, interaction with her. Met with the Concierge, Tim, who was EXCEPTIONAL! Took time to listen to what I was looking for, and helped me fine tune my reservations and reserve some spots that I would not have been able to secure on my own. At each location, we were greeted with complimentary treats which was a great touch! Well done, Tim! Room was pretty standard. Appreciated the water carafe, although it wasn't refilled by housekeeping as stated. Towels were large and soft. Nice toiletries, too. King bed was very comfortable and room temp was acceptable. Did not partake in the food, but the bartender downstairs was very polite. Nothing blew me away where I would exclusively stay here, but overall it was a nice hotel, and a great location.

Really enjoyed our stay at the James Chicago. Great staff throughout the hotel, Room was clean and couldn't fault the experience. We had a plumbing issue external to our room (Extremely loud noises from a pipe-riser dead space adjacent to our room) at 10pm on our 1st night after we had gone to bed. This was dealt with exteremely speedily and efficiently, i.e. we were given a new room immediately and helped move our stuff. Goes to prove it's not the problem that is an issue, it's how and how fast it's dealt with - well done! Overall would definitely recommend
