Loved this spot, modern, bright, inviting lobby with free coffee to start the day. Friendly staff in the lobby to answer any questions. Concierge gave us a great dinner recommendation. Our room was outstanding, love and appreciate a great bed, comfortable, white, duvet! Bathroom was well appointed and the white towels were soft. Nice black out blind, free water. Amazing location, close to great shopping & restaurants, very close to the Mile. Don't hesitate to book The James!

The quality is simply better than a four seasons or any premium brand. Good size room, great location. Staff were excellent. Awesome massage. Friendly reception and housekeeping. I must particularly compliment the concierge Tim, who is simply the best I have ever dealt with, and I travel globally a lot. He responded to my requests before I arrived and throughout the trip, and everything was organised efficiently and was just what we wanted.

Close to shopping and food. Nicely appointed rooms, modern decor, comfortable bed. Adequate service and wifi. Small entry and lobby, not much frontage for parking or drop off. Walking distance to most downtown attractions. Poor sound insulation from hallway noise.

Loved this hotel. Great location, close to Michigan Avenue, restaurants (Pizzerias Uno and Due only a couple of blocks away) and Trader Joe's just across the street. Excellent staff, concierge Tim very helpful. Valet parking was $65/ nite, but apparently this is common in downtown Chicago. Valet service was excellent, and they were vey helpful storing and retrieving our bikes.

This was my second visit to The James in Chicago, and while the decor is a little shabbier and showing more wear than during my previous stay, the beds are still second to none. Two nights of incredible sleep, and the room was impeccably clean. (Confession: I may have gotten a second-tier room as I booked on Priceline.) Great location on the Magnificent Mile, would definitely stay here again!
