The Langham, Chicago

This is the third Langham property I’ve stayed at. I previously visited their London and Melbourne hotels. Like the others, this is a beautiful property and excellently situated. The rooms are large, modern, clean, and spacious with great (although slightly obstructed) views of the water. The service is prompt, friendly, and attentive. Special shout out to the housekeeping service which is meticulous. My sister joined me midway through my stay and the housekeeping service noticed and provided extra slippers, robes, and water. Note that the street noise was quite audible well into the night (loud cars and sirens) even though we were on the 9th floor. It did disrupt our sleep. Overall, however, I would gladly stay here again. There is one issue I want to flag for improvement. I am not in favor of mandatory tips for spa services which is, unfortunately, increasingly common these days. I had a massage while I was staying there and while it was perfectly adequate, it was not exceptional and felt, at times, rushed and missing finesse. Normally, I’d reflect this view in the size of the tip. Instead, Langham charged a mandatory service fee that increased the cost of the service from $260 to $321. When I asked if I could modify the tip amount, I was told no, but I could add a further tip on top if I wanted. Mandatory tips discourage your teams from providing superior service and left me feeling dissatisfied.

Front desk staff inform me of wrong time of spa treatment and missed appt. Though reimbursement was started without any push back, I was disappointed I missed my appt due to this mistake.

Our stay was lovely. Everyone we encountered was friendly, courteous and professional. The room was comfortable and beautiful. The Club atmosphere was especially nice

Weekend trip to CHI to visit family. Second stay at the Langham in past year. It may have supplanted The Peninsula as our go to hotel in CHI. Very nice luxury hotel with great food and hotel bar. Gym is on the nicer end of hotel gyms. Large indoor pool and hot tub. Very walkable to the Gold Coast, Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park and the Art Museum. What really sets this hotel apart from others though is the outstanding quality of the Club Level. The best I have enjoyed of any hotel anywhere. Well worth the cost of the upgrade. Very large space with sweeping views of CHI. Dining area and separate lounge type space with comfortable couches, Herman Miller Ames chairs, etc. The quality of the food and beverage offerings is absolutely top notch here. Just a great experience. Only downside to the hotel is proximity to Trump Tower (right across the street). Kidding (sort of). Highly recommend this spot.

Really enjoyed our time at this property. We Love the location and the views of this property offered. The customer service was fantastic from arrival to departure. The health facilities were in great shape, they were very clean and I enjoyed being able to work out daily. The club level is also amazing the drinks, the food, the service are all top-notch not to leave out the beautiful accommodations that we were afforded. I highly recommend and will be visiting another Langham in the future.
