The Langham, Chicago

Visited in September 2026. What a beautiful first class experience. The Club lounge is exceptional the staff is world class! Can’t wait to go back!

Unfortunately, our stay fell far below expectations, particularly given the $1,500 room rate and the property’s strong reviews. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. No one informed us that check-in was on the second floor, and with no staff available to assist, we wandered the first floor for nearly 10 minutes before noticing a small plaque by the elevator. Breakfast was equally underwhelming. Our waiter was inattentive and largely absent despite the restaurant being nearly empty. My daughter’s orange juice was too bitter to drink, and I was unable to order anything additional because our waiter never returned. The room itself felt mediocre at best. It was extremely noisy. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows unremarkable, the carpeting appeared dated, and there were none of the thoughtful or personal touches one expects from a luxury property. Overall, the room and hotel felt tired and uninviting. Finally, I called ahead for our car from valet while walking back to the hotel in the rain, leaving my 13-year-old daughter at Nordstrom so she wouldn’t get soaked. Despite calling ahead, the car had not been retrieved, and I waited another 20 minutes. I previously worked at Condé Nast Traveler and have also stayed at most of Chicago’s five-star properties, so I’m very familiar with the level of service and attention to detail expected at this price point. Unfortunately, this experience did not come close. At $1,500 for the night, the lack of service, comfort, and hospitality was especially disappointing. The only kind effort extended to us was from one of your concierge staff members. He created a candy basket for my daughter. It was very sweet and thoughtful and much appreciated. I’m sorry our stay did not go well. We live in the Chicago suburbs and often come to the city for staycations- hence having stayed at most- if not all - other local properties. We had another wonderful and relaxing trip. Beds were comfortable. Delicious lounge food. Service was over and beyond.

Langham location right at the downtown core, view from hotel is amazing, most all of attraction walking distance,close to public transport. No need to worry or headache to find a food

We have stayed at the Langham Chicago multiple times and we are always pleased with our stay. The location is so convenient and the service, fitness center, spa, bar/dining are all top notch. Will definitely come back.
