Great location and water tower & Michigan lake view. The breakfast is also excellent. All the staff are very nice! The hotel locates at the best place for shopping for downtown Chicago, very convenient.

Overall, it was a very average experience. Hotels in major cities do not lack Globalist guests, so it’s best not to set expectations too high. The only benefit I actually received was complimentary breakfast. The room cleanliness was poor: there were obvious stains on the living room sofa and carpet, and very noticeable stains on the pillows—although they did give me clean pillowcases, lol. The in-room phone was broken, so every time I needed anything, I had to go to the front desk in person. One of the pool shower stalls was out of order, so I had to share a single stall with my son. That said, the breakfast was very refined, and the service and food quality at the NoMI restaurant are definitely worth recommending.

The Park Hyatt remains the premiere hotel in Chicago. Outstanding location, beautiful rooms, incredible food and beverage, and a staff that is second to none. No reason to stay anywhere else. This property has it all and then some.

My husband and I stayed at the Park Hyatt on a Wednesday night the week before Christmas for our yearly trip to the city to window shop, see the lights, and have an excellent meal. We loved it! The customer service is just great. Check-in and check-out were fast and easy, the bellmen were great, and the valet service was perfect. The young man at the door coordinating all the coming and going of cars/people/bags/etc was so pleasant and helpful. The room was great. We had booked a deluxe King city-view, but when we arrived, we were asked if we’d like to upgrade to the Lake view for an extra $40 – yes, please! The room was gorgeous, with a large bathroom and a lovely shower. The views from the room, with huge windows facing east, allowed us to look straight down Chicago Avenue to the lake. The iconic Water Tower was right outside our window. Another thing we really liked about the room was the light and shade control button system. It was easy to figure out and very convenient. The best light feature is that there are motion sensors, so when you get out of bed in the dark, a very low light illuminates from under the bed. And when you walk into the bathroom, there are low lights that come on under the vanities. We’ve been to hotel rooms with motion sensors that turn on the regular bright bathroom light when you walk in, and that is not very nice in the middle of the night. I am a morning tea drinker, and I was pleased to see that there was a hot water kettle right next to the usual Nespresso machine. My only small critique was that there was one small coffee/tea cup and one espresso cup. I had to brew my tea, then transfer it to a glass after it had cooled a bit, so my husband could use the same cup to make his coffee. Very odd. The minibar is stocked with many tasty snacks and drinks (for a price!). We dined at NoMi and loved it, but I will review that separately.
