Reviews for The Whitehall Hotel
Great property and location, not well set-up for business travel. Check-in was friendly, but slow. Room well appointed but plugs hard to access. Breakfast was good, but slow and server unfriendly, unaccommodating.

The Whitehall Hotel is the best value in downtown Chicago. It is located a half block off Michigan Avenue and two blocks from the Water Tower. Room are comfortable and reasonably well maintained. Beds are outstanding. If you are flexible in your dates and prepay for your room, the pricing is great.

It is centrally located thats for sure and it is decently priced. It could need a renovation and the cost for "the extras" are well marked in an offensive way and whatever you..do not print without checking the price.

Good solid historic hotel with fair room rate prices, located in a centrally area near The Magnificent Mile and a very good staff. The hotel is showing some aging signs that may not suite certain folks, but the age does give the hotel and the rooms specifically charm.

Hotel is in a fantastic location. We got a decent price so I could not complain. Although I definately wouldn’t rate the hotel a 4.5 star... The rooms are very spacious but extremely dated. Be sure to bring a power strip or extension cord if you need to plug in more than one phone or need a CPAP machine. Our closet door track was severely bent and the mirrored glass was scratching anytime we tried to open. Was afraid of breaking the mirror so we couldn’t use it. The beds are in metal casters and both myself and my daughter hurt our feet. My daughter actually cut her foot open. The shower head was extremely low. I am 5’8” and I had to slouch to use it. My husband is 6’2” and I’m sure it was uncomfortable for him to use. The good: Location. Others had complained about the elevators but we never had to wait even though they were tiny. The bellhop (I believe his name is Jamie) was super nice and helped with the luggage both up and down. With all the choices in Chicago not sure if we would pick this hotel again.
