Reviews for The Whitehall Hotel
On our visit to Chicago we stayed at this cozy hotel in the heart of the city. A block away from the best restaurants and shopping in town. The hotel has its pros and cons. However I should first mention that the staff were very pleasant and helpful while responding to requests fast. I would rate the staff a 10/10. So here we go the pros: location is great. We used SpotHero to find in-and-out parking right across of the hotel for a very good price. The hotel was clean and had an option for free WiFi. Beds were nice and firm, and there is a bar downstairs. Cons: prepare for a good wait for the elevators. We weren’t in a hurry for most of the time, but it could be a nightmare if one was. We stayed in room 1508 and the AC unit sounded like engine noise from the back seats of a plane. Loud! But blew cold air. (We didn’t try the heating unit so this review doesn’t apply ) Bathroom were clean however the ceiling had water damage and the paint was pealing off. We had a wonderful stay and the beds were good. But we were really glad the hotel was neat and clean despite the few cons. We would probably stay at this hotel again especially because of the location and great staff. Might test the ac unit next time, before I unpack lol.

The hotel could not be located any better, top of the golden mile and close to lots of awesome restaurants and bars. The actual hotel is ok, a bit dated and probably in need of a bit of modernisation and it only has 2 Elevators, but is good value. The bar in the evenings is great and the 2 barman we met during the week we were there were good. Recommend this hotel as a great base, location! Location! Location!
Hotel was clean and had a good location. It's an older property and you can tell from the layout. A little cramped feeling. Only overhead light was right next to the doorway, so about four different lamps had to be turned on separately to get decent light. Even then it was dark.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the bed as it was advertised as a Superior King bed. It was the hardest thing I have ever slept on and as a result was extremely tired and sore for my morning meeting. I will not stay here again and I will also let our corporate booking group know that I did not have a good experience.
The lobby and restaurants were beautiful, but the room was dated. While the view was beautiful, and the bathroom was very clean (which is very important to me), I had no functioning outlets, with the exception of one 2-prong outlet that I unplugged the alarm clock from so I could charge my phone.
