I would have loved to give the cute quirky hotel a three star, but all the little issues added up. The check in process was smooth and uneventful, when I got to the room I was initially pleasantly surprised, although small, it felt comfortable. Then I started having issues. 1. Stayed for three nights, each day I was left with NO face towels unless I went and requested them. Then I was forced to wait to shower as I waited for someone to bring me the towels. 2. I am very short, and the height of the shower head was even to short for me! Not sure how anyone over 5'2 could comfortably shower without ducking. 3. Paint was pealing everywhere 4. The shower faucet dripped the entire stay, often waking me up, as I am a lite sleeper. 5. My room didn't have a working iron until I requested one, as the one in the room would not heat up. 6. I generally love a firm bed, but these beds were reminiscent of sleeping on a concrete block rather than a firm bed. 7. My first two showers (12 midnight when I arrived and noon) had unpredictable water temperature. The water would go from like warm to uncomfortably cool with no warning, making the shower a very uncomfortable experience. One time I took a shower and actually had consistent hot water, but this was only once out of four total showers. 8. Rooms are very loud! Slept horrible each night because of all the carry over noise from other rooms. 9. No power outlets in logical places other than the bathroom.

To be honest it's not the most amazing hotel, but the bed was SO good. Very big and also amazingly comfortable. This really makes a difference, I had a good night's sleep every night. Other than that, I liked the vintage feel of the place, and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

This hotel is in a very good location Downtown, right next to the John Hancock Building. It is right beside Magnificent Mile Shopping area and it is easily accessible on foot to most places of interest, including the nearby river, from which you can take one of the Architectural River Cruises, which are of interest.

The location was great! Just one block off of Michigan Avenue. Also, the desk staff were exceptionally friendly. I felt very welcomed. The room was nice but the maid service did not make up the room until we had to call repeatedly after 5 pm (when we usually returned to the room each day) to make sure they came to the room to clean. Also, when we arrived at the hotel and went up the elevator to our room, the hall was very narrow and small and in need of an update. It created a negative impressive of the hotel quality. But when we entered the room, it was quite nice. The beds were very comfortable except for the pillows which were very flat and interrupted my sleep. This is an average hotel with some housekeeping problems. If you want a great location, this is the place. If you have high expectations for a room and housekeeping, you will be disappointed.

Stayed at this hotel first time round about 12/13 years ago. We were a group of 5 on a city break. At that time, the hotel was fantastic, decor was lovely, staff were great, beds were comfy & location was/is superb!! However, this time round, what a bitter disappointment, I'd say the hotel hasn't been decorated since my last visit, decor very drab & tired. Wifi, totally unreliable, bedroom lighting decor etc almost dingy!!! One lady on reception was extemely rude & should not be employed in the service industry in any capacity in my opinion!! She hadn't got a clue about how to deal with guests queries. Overall a very disappointing stay, the only redeeming quality was its location, v central & convenient to everything. However, I cannot recommend this hotel based on our visit.
