The Whitehall Hotel

First the good stuff - The hotel is in a great location and a good price. Upon entry into the room we found that the light switches adjacent to the entry were not connected to anything. Had to enter the dark room to find a lamp and switch it on manually. The WiFi was useless. I could rarely make a connection and, when I could it would soon disconnect. Was unable to conduct any significant business or communication. Toilet design or water presure was inadequate to clear waste on the first , or often second attempt. Plus the toilet is located in the middle of the bathroom (what . . .?).

The breakfast was horrible. A big pan of luke- warm, totally undercooked bacon, room temp pancakes, soggy potatoes. The room was nice but outlets didn’t work, and the AC was lousy.

I was looking for a hotel to stay near my friend for one night. I found this place to be affordable and beautiful. The hotel staff was fantastic and the breakfast was top notch. I stayed on the 8th floor and it was really quiet which was wonderful after my busy day. I would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel! Great location and the sweetest staff! Cheryl was an absolute joy and helped me get checked into a room early when I really needed it! Wonderful women. Recommend this hotel to anyone!

I stayed at the Whitehall Hotel during a recent business trip. The room was acceptable, but it felt a bit worn and in need of some updates. For example, the shower didn’t work properly. The reception staff were polite, though not especially welcoming, and I had expected a slightly higher level of service. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast – the selection was poor and mostly unhealthy options. The hotel was in a very central part of chicago which was a pluss. Overall, the stay was fine, but the hotel did not fully meet my expectations.
