Situated on the banks of Peru's Colca River, Aranwa Pueblito Encantado del Colca is a tranquil oasis rich in colonial Andean traditions and the legends of the region. The majesty of the Andes Mountains stretches out beyond the immaculate low-rise layout of the property, where 32 deluxe rooms, 3 suites, and 6 chalets offer unprecedented luxury. The Spanish-style layout of Encantado del Colca is blanketed with the aromatic flora of the region, and meandering stone walkways leading to a world-class spa, business center, and acclaimed eatery El Molino. Simple and sophisticated in design, the expansive accommodations at Encantado del Colca are flooded with natural light and offer breathtaking views of the mountains, the stunning grounds, or the river. Private and intimate, nuances of soft whites and rich brown hues create a romantic yet earthy feel in the rooms. Lavish bathrooms are an en-suite spa treat with deep soaking tubs, exquisitely postmodern fixtures, and plush bathrobes and towels to enhance the experience.

This is a gorgeous hotel, very secluded and nice to get back to nature. The road to reach it is a bit hairy, steep and many bends but it was worth it. Our room was huge and so was the bathroom with a big circular bath and separate shower. The restaurant was nice and the food delicious. There is a spa and a pool but we didn’t have time to use it. We did however use the hot springs which were a few minutes walk away from the hotel ( not connected to the hotel, you have to pay 15 soles). There was a plug in mosquito repellent in the room but we didn’t see any mosquitoes at all. The only thing I had a problem with was the washing didn’t dry in the bathroom. I’d washed a few things as soon as I arrived and 2 days later they still hadn’t dried. Also my hair took ages to dry with the hairdryer. Not sure if it was the humidity although it didn’t seem humid in there. The grounds of the hotel are pretty with plenty of bird feeders so loads of birds and they even have a baby alpaca. I’d definitely stay here again

The hotel is located in a very beautiful area surrounded by fantastic scenery. However, the hotel facilities and rooms are somewhat outdated and in need of renovation. The rooms are large but not very comfortable or cozy. The restaurant staff is very friendly, but the food is not the best. This hotel has the advantage of being very close to thermal springs, within walking distance.

I was really taken by the beauty of the village-like property and its surrounding nature, for $250USD a night. However, aesthetics is the only thing this hotel has to offer. We stayed here for about 14 hours - let’s begin. To start, every hotel I’ve stayed at in Peru has bottled water for brushing teeth as the water isn’t safe to drink. At this hotel, you have to pay for bottled water, just to brush your teeth. Reception didn’t really seem to care about that potential health issue. Secondly, there is nothing around here, which is great for a retreat and quiet time, however, we wanted to watch tv to pass some time, and the tv wasn’t working. When we contacted reception to ask if they could help us, they hung up. We actually had to search the grounds for a staff member to help us out. And it was the very nice bellman who helped us. Third, my mum and I booked a massage at their spa. My mums massage was cut 20 minutes short and she was literally bruised the following day. When we asked for towels so we could shower and get the oil off our skin before dinner, we were told no. End of. We booked the couples massage, but they tried to charge us for individual massages. Finally, when we went to dinner, the menu was very small and they didn’t have some of the items, making the menu even smaller. We were sat for 30 minutes before anyone came over and in the middle of ordering, the waiter walked away and disappeared. While reading the reviews, I noticed a response to every single review, except for the one that about the housekeeper being caught red-handed stealing and he called them out for not doing anything about it. If that’s not a massive red flag, I’m not sure what else Is. I am truly dumbfounded that the ratings are 4.5 when it is maybe a 3-star at best. I would recommend going elsewhere. If you have booked a tour, and this hotel is on your itinerary, I strongly suggest asking your tour operator to switch.
