About the Hotel

Set on the Italian shore of Lake Lugano, Parco San Marco Hotels & Beach Resort unfolds across 23.5 hectares of gardens and woodland, giving the sensation of arriving at a private lakeside estate rather than simply checking into a hotel. The resort stretches for almost a kilometre along a sun-facing hillside, with suites and terraces looking across the deep blue-green water to the mountains beyond. Wander downhill through subtropical gardens and you reach the resort’s 3,000-square-metre private beach—the largest private beach on Lake Lugano—where long afternoons can be spent swimming from the shore, lingering in the sun or setting out onto the lake. Behind you rise 40,000 square metres of landscaped park and a 200,000-square-metre mountain forest, creating an unusually generous sense of privacy and space.

Days here can be as indulgent or active as you choose. Swim in the adults-only outdoor relaxation pool, retreat to the 1,500-square-metre SPA CEò, or float in an infinity saltwater pool with lake and mountain scenery seemingly continuing beyond the water’s edge; families have their own indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides and dedicated spa facilities. The resort also offers tennis, beach volleyball, basketball and a range of water sports, while six restaurants and three bars mean there is little reason to leave when evening arrives. Imagine returning from the lake, changing for dinner and settling onto a terrace as the mountains darken into silhouettes, followed by a quiet drink beneath the warm lights of the resort and the stillness of Lugano below.

Heavenly location structured with respect for the environment

We stayed here for one night on our way back to the Netherlands and booked two suites. Very attentive and accommodating staff serves to your every needs. The suites are spacious, clean, wonderful bed, large fridge and one could even cook if one wanted to. The park is absolutely stunning. They've managed to appreciate the historic surroundings and a stunning gardener architect incorporated it with the most gorgeous planting and little squares. There's staff everywhere but we didn't see anyone at the pool for adults. Unfortunately there was a 60 years + very drunk and seemingly unwell American yelling and falling over as well with a hired companion about 25 years of age. Apparently they had just met and booked a vacation together as we got loudly informed. The girl did not know how to swim which was unsafe and she was walking around the pool making vids of herself, posing sexually not respecting privacy of all of us. They should have been kicked out. We booked half board and had a lovely 4 course dinner. My friend knows a lot about wines and their sommelier made a very good choice together with her. Breakfast was heavenly, especially when taken on the terras of my own suite with the view of the lake.

Superb hotel

This is a beautiful hotel in stunning location. The amenities are second to none for all members of the family (2 adults, two children,10 & 6) & the cleanliness is unbelievably impressive everywhere you go. We have never encountered this level of customer service & attention to detail (& we have stayed in exceptionally nice hotels over the years) - the staff across all departments are the friendliest and most helpful we have ever experienced, towards both adults & children alike, especially Cristina at the breakfast service desk & Cordorro (I hope I have the correct spelling). We had a wonderful family stay, everything is of the highest standard- accommodation, restaurants, grounds, cleanliness and the exceptional staff. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Wonderful stay with 16m old

We visited early May with our 16 month old and had such a lovely stay at Parco San Marco with our toddler. The resort feels more like a little lakeside village than a hotel, with beautiful views, fantastic family facilities, and unbelievably warm staff who made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The indoor family spa was fabulous and the play areas were great, and we really valued the babysitting service so we could visit the adult spa - a real treat and highlight with those views over the lake. The hotel is a the perfect base for exploring the Italian Lakes with kids, and we can't wait to return.
