Reviews for Sandpearl Resort
Just got home from five nights at the hotel. Loved every minute of it. Have no complaints at all. Employees were great, rooms perfect, food was good. Beach was fabulous! And you can't beat the sunsets.

Stayed here 30th August to 6 September. Amazing location lots to do in the area. Staff are friendly and efficient Kids were made to feel welcome. Rooms are nice if a little tired (brown carpets do not help!) Buffet breakfast good but be aware they don’t run it if the hotel is quiet I.e the last 3days we were there. Pool area and beach are brilliant. Only downside were the first rooms we had were on the north side (617 and 619) brilliant views but you are over the kitchen and the noise of the extractor fans are very loud. And they run 24 hours. Almost impossible to have a normal conversation on the balcony. You have to close the doors and turn the room air con up to drown it out. Will definitely revisit.

My hubby and I love our staycation each year at the Sand Pearl. We usually do a summer trip and bring the whole family. This time my hubby surprised me for my birthday. We absolutely love Clearwater beach and the Sand Pearl is one of our favorite spots. The arrival is perfect and I love the smell of the lobby. My favorite part though is hanging pool side while sipping on a Miami Vice. While we love this hotel my only critique would be the spa. It's nice but small and doesn't offer some of the "free" amenities (Sauna, Relaxation Area, Experience Shower, etc) as other four star resorts such as the Four Seasons or Ritz. Looking forward to our next trip!

My husband and I have stayed here several times before. We stay here for special occasions. The hotel is beautiful and has a breathtaking view of the gulf. This time, however, we felt the hotel is no longer worth the amount of money we paid and the quality is going down. Upon arriving, I needed a tissue and found no tissue box in the bathroom (no big deal). However, when I went to get toilet paper to use instead of a tissue, I noticed the floor area around toilet was dirty. Later in the day, when I went to hang up my towel after showering, the towel bar broke off. I went to use the microwave located in the ice room. The microwave was dirty and the area itself smelled like garbage. Later in the day, I walked passed the area again and a man commented that the smell was pungent. At one point during our two-day stay, I was leaving the room and noticed the door did not lock and could easily be opened without a key. I called front desk and the engineer discovered that a new locking system would have to be installed. This took some time and was an inconvenience. At the same time, my family was downstairs without a phone (as I was charging the phones) and I could not communicate to them the delay. Breakfast was included with our package for both days. When I received my bill at the end of the stay, I was charged for breakfast for both days. I brought this up to the front desk and the issue was corrected and the representative apologized. At checkout, I was planning to discuss my stay with the front desk, but I was never asked how my stay went. Given the cost per day of almost $500, after resort fee, mandatory valet fee and tax, the stay should have been remarkable and, sadly, it was not. Lastly, I paid for oceanfront. The room we received did look over the ocean, but it also overlooked the parking lot of the restaurant beside the hotel. Not something I expected at $500 per night.

Returned here after having a positive stay unfortunately this was not the case this time. On arrival I parked my car out front as we did not have a booking, I was approached by a valet who asked if I had a reservation and demanded my car keys I explained I do not want Valet parking until I have booked a room, he made it very clear to me he was in charge and if I do not give him the keys I have to move the car. Nice way to be greeted. Made our reservation and went to our room, we had only been in the room 5 minutes when we could hear what sounded like a large dog barking, I understand it is a pet friendly hotel but not all guests want that. Pet friendly hotels should put guests with pets in one part of the hotel and guests who do not wish to be near pets away from them. We went down to reception and asked to be moved,we were moved up to the next floor, only to find the barking dog was on that floor, we went out on the balcony and there it was barking at us from the opposite balcony. The room was not cleaned, the top of picture frames were thick with dust down the end of the bed had not been cleaned in a long time thick with dust and even sweets that had been dropped, I called for the Manager to attend our room so he could see this first hand. I got the impression he did not care, asked if we wanted someone to come and clean it, well not really we have had to move once and did not want to be disturbed any more. When you pay to stay in a 4 star resort you do not expect dirty rooms and barking dogs. The bathroom essentials ( Shampoo shower gel ) are a joke not enough to wash one person. Coffee condiments were a joke for the money you pay to stay here, you would expect more.2 sugars when there are 2 guests in the room. There was a lamp in the corner but it was not plugged in and there was no where to plug it in. There was a telephone on the desk again this was not plugged in and there was no where to plug it in. So they were just for show useless items that could not be used The soap dish in the bathroom was all flaking away it had seen better days and belonged in the bin. Had to wait to book a room and had to wait to check out. The check in staff were very nice and helpful but its not good enough when you have to stand and wait. Barking dog woke us in the night so did not get a good nights sleep. Not the standard we received on previous stay. Will not be using this hotel again
