Reviews for Sandpearl Resort

Excellent Service, Care & Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 17 hours ago

We came to Sandpearl for our 20th Anniversary celebration. It was our first time and we stayed there for 4 nights. We were impressed by the care the staff provided in terms of cleanliness of the rooms, the resort and the beach. The “little things” made a big difference like Valentina serving champagne every day in the lobby, or Matt at pool side giving recommendations in the area. Turndown service in the evening was so appreciated. So much do here! We didn’t rent a car, but the location is perfect for all the restaurants nearby from beachfront restaurants to the cute cafes and all the shopping within a few blocks. We definitely recommend booking a kayaking tour through the concierge as we as a Sunset dinner cruise from the nearby Marina. If you’re adventurous borrow the bikes and ride along the trail to the nearby town Dunedin for a sweet little town and more cafe shops. Take advantage of the beautiful walks along the beach in the morning, and the picture worthy sunsets at night. This was our experience, and we enjoyed it immensely.

Top notch

Top notch. We booked a suite for 2 days and enjoyed the resort enough to add an additional day to our stay. EVERYTHING is put together so well at this resort. From the beach, to the pool, to mother nature's sunset, to the rooms, to the staff, to the surrounding nightlife. An outstanding hotel in my book. Every staff member we met made the stay that much better. We sincerely enjoyed our stay and will be returning for more.

Sadly dissapointed

Been comming to this resort for years. Prices going up every year but not the level of comfort of OPAL resorts are known for. Bar Staff at the pool are not friendly and had the nerve to charge my 7 year old daughter $1 for a cup of ice. Then suggested that she go upstairs for free ice. She was very upset. Staff started removing towels and personal belonging from the pool chairs left unattended if 1hr passes. I had a supervisor watching us poolside as I administer orange juice to my diabetic daughter. No outside beverages allowed. It made us very uncomfortable. Security constantly checking wrist bands. Made us feel like we were in a controlled compound. My daughter got stomach flu from eating in the restaurant. I will not be returning to this hotel. Keep in mind I am VIP status with these resorts and travel throughout Florida visiting them, but For $900 a night the level of service at this resort is sub-par and does not reflect what OPAL resorts represents. Suggest firing all upper level management and rehire fresh blood. When in Clearwater beach visit the other hotels. Cheaper priced

Great family stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Had a wonderful stay at the Sandpearl. This is our third trip as a family, we go about once a year but this is our first visit since the rooms have been remodeled. Room was really beautiful, stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was perfect for our family of 4. Had dinner at Carretta and Dane took excellent care of us - he was exceptional!! Two small things…..poolside service was slow and hostess at caretta was a little odd when trying to get a table, she just seemed inconvenienced but Dane (and Chad) made up for it. We went following a busy holiday weekend so the poolside service was hurting a bit, but they were very busy so understandable just would’ve been a little if they had more help. Food and drinks at Tates were great as always too.
