Nice location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 hours ago

Overall, we had a positive experience. Perfect location but of course, it comes at a steep cost. Parking, amenity charges, taxes, etc adds over $100 per day to expenses. Unfortunately, renovations were taking place in the entry way which caused very loud jackhammer noise and vibrations in our room each day, all day. The beachfront view for the king beach front room option is in reality a pool view instead of an unobstructed gulf view. The sliders to the balcony are extremely difficult to open and close. We had maintenance to the room and they tried very hard to fix the problem but admitted new rollers needed to be installed it was a common problem. The beachfront umbrella and chair service was very nice and efficient but you need to get out there by 8:00am to ensure a front row umbrella. The beach is wide and probably the best section of the beach. Pool water was like bath water but it was late June. Pricing at Tates was reasonable and a great place to eat gulf side. I would recommend something other than their chips however. Overall a nice hotel if you don’t mind paying $700 per night.

Poor Poor Service Recovery After Cabana Mix-Up

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I reserved a cabana months in advance through the property’s concierge, Jose, but when we arrived, there was no cabana reserved for us. The mistake itself was frustrating, but what made the experience truly disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. Rather than taking accountability or offering a meaningful apology, the front desk staff member Ari and the general manager were defensive and confrontational. I was told that the cabanas had been reserved since February, which made me feel as though I had done something wrong, even though I had arranged this through the hotel’s concierge. There was no meaningful service recovery: no sincere apology, no note to the room, no gesture, and no real attempt to make the situation right. Later, I noticed that Cabana 4, the cabana number I had originally been given, remained empty. When I pointed this out, I received a dismissive text response from Ari at the front desk stating, “That is fine. They did book it and are paying.” Overall, the issue was not just the reservation mistake. It was the lack of professionalism, accountability, and hospitality afterward. For a property presenting itself as high-end, this was a very disappointing experience

Underwhelming check in process/pretty resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We chose sandpearl resort to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Our check in was truly underwhelming. There was only one person working behind the check in desk, and we just so happened to walk in right behind a family of four who wanted to add days on to their existing reservation. The woman apparently had to consult her mother by making a phone call, and the employee behind the desk left to go find out more information for these people who had not gotten their act together before arriving. This left us standing there without any end in sight for us to check in. I am not sure why there are not at least two people working to check guests in at all times. We were not offered any welcome drink. Yet, the children who were in front of us were welcomed with little pails and shovels. Once we finally did have our turn, we were checked in quickly, and our room was lovely, except the ceiling fan was very loud, making a thumping noise. Gene, our bellman was incredibly helpful and so nice. The ceiling fan issue did get resolved after texting and letting the staff know. It was never perfect, but at least usable. As for the service at Tates, painfully slow. We had finally checked in and found our way to Tate’s. We were only two people. Our lunch took almost an hour to arrive. There was not many people even eating because it was mid afternoon. Food mediocre. Way too much jerk sauce on the fish and mushy vegetables and rice. Our room was beautiful and the sunsets were amazing. Just know that people are very quick to wake up and snag all the seats at the pool. And the valet parking and umbrellas on beach cost extra. If you are a couple, look for a resort that isn’t so child and family friendly, because they dominate here. Beach staff who set up the umbrellas are very nice. This place reminded me of a cruise where grandparents and young adults and their children go on vacation. The free shuttle is nice, we used it to get to seaguini at opal sands. However, waiting for it to come back after dinner took an hour. It’s probably not worth taking if you are on a time schedule.overall, the resort is gorgeous. But there are way too many people To actually be able to sit comfortably at the pool.
