Our stay - the good and bad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The location and atmosphere were perfect! We had a lot of fun and were really pleased with our stay. We brought our two children (ages 8 and 6) and especially loved that there was always something for them to do. The only things that I was a bit disappointed in (and took away from a 5 rating): 1.) The elevators kept breaking down. Two out of the four days we were there had broken elevators. We also heard stories from other customers that they had gotten stuck on the elevators. I think they need some work done to them. 2.) To get hooked up to the complementary WiFi took about 40 minutes each night. Every evening, we would have to relog in and the page glitched. We would have to continue to try and try before getting in. It was very frustrating (I wanted to get some work done) and we are charged daily a resort fee for this. 3.) Finally, we had reservations at Caretta (the restaurant on the property) and for the price, I was very disappointed. The service was not great and the steak was not cooked well. Further, we had made seating requests weeks prior to our visit which were ignored (and the seats that we requested were open). We ended up explaining our request and being moved but i would have been much happier if we were granted our request from the beginning. We would love to stay again but for the cost of everything these little frustrations mentioned above seemed to be amplified.

Should not, in my opinion, be rated 4 stars

Almost anything that one wanted had an extra charge Very slow service at restaurants...lunch took 2 hours plus Attended a wedding where no one was notified of events sites or times until last minute and the event rooms were being readied when we arrived.

Rude customer service

The hotel is nice but Cyn at the market spot to get sodas was very rude. We walked up to get a drink. For a minute she walked around randomly like we were not even there. All I had on the counter was a Diet Coke and she slapped a we will return shortly sign down in front of me and said I’ll be right back instead of taking the 30 seconds it would have taken to check me out then run her errand. We waited over 10 minutes and when she returned just more attitude and no apology…

Decent stay

The resort was great overall, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the hot tub, which seemed far too small for the size of the resort and the number of guests staying there. My family and I save throughout the year to take a vacation, so we understand that certain amenities come with additional costs and that you often get what you pay for. However, I was disappointed that guests must pay to rent an umbrella on the private beach while also being charged a resort fee. In my opinion, beach umbrella use should be included as part of the resort amenities, especially considering the additional fee already being collected. One nights stay really adds up after mandatory valet, nightly service charge and umbrella rental. Despite that concern, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and excellent staff

Excellent family beach vacation resort!

A perfect 4 nights and 5 days with the family that includes 2 kids under 11. The white sandy Clearwater beach right across is the best I’ve been to. The pool and movie night each day was great for the kids. Great service and friendly warm staff throughout made our stay very memorable!
