Do not depend on the shuttle and do not use Clearwater Fishing I shore charter they recommend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

Everything was great with our stay. The resort was exactly as expected. Thr only downfall is the shuttle was out of service for 2 days which was a major inconvenience for our family traveling with my two elderly parents. We incurred over $100 in Lyft fees after being stranded without a shuttle. We also originally tried the Jolly Trolly but it was too hard for them to get up and down on. We had never used Uber or Lyft but quickly learned. The resort also recommended using Scott with Clearwater Fishing Inshore for a fishing charter for our family of 6. DO NOT USE!!! Scott was supposed to follow up the night before with confirmation and never did. We had to reach out to him. Then we were told he was going to have a Captain Logan taken out not him. The next Morgan we met Captain Logan, great guy. When we reached the destination the trolling motor on the boat would not work and Logan said Scott’s equipment was always in horrible condition. It would not allow us to get where we need to at the mangroves to catch the red fish, he worked and tried so hard but we only caught 3. We finally left and went back into the bay and tried for trout and caught 5 trout and 2 catfish. All rods were set up for left handers, which made reeling difficult for our family, they also would not take us out as discussed and planned for near shore fishing. They only used 4 rods when there was 6 of us and we all had to hate and take turns. We were way over charged for this experience - even charged $200 extra for 6 people to go but the host and equipment was not even set up for 6. This was the biggest disappointment ever. I have been in many fishing charters and this was literally took advantage of us and was $850 worth of nothing but a boat ride. Shame on them!

Beautiful resort, friendly staff, fantastic beach! Enjoyed every moment here. Great restaurants walkable - like <5 min from the property. Exactly what we needed for ultimate relaxation, convenience with a great atmosphere.

Great amenities. Fabulous staff. Disappointing room.

Great location and amenities. Partial view room not worth it. Loved the beach and pool and could spend all day there! The staff was amazing and you cannot beat the beach. The pool area had plenty of chairs and we chose to stay here for most meals vs leaving the resort. The downside was our room. Paid extra for the “partial view”. We were on floor 4 and our view was of dumpsters with the scent to match. Couldn’t sit out there because of the smell. Disappointing.

We stayed at Sand Pearl hotel in Clearwater beach from 10th May to 16th May 2026. We had a Gulf view room. The hotel was large, but easy to navigate around. Our room was comfortable, with complementary toiletries which were replenished when needed, along with robes and slippers for use during our stay. Coffee, tea and bottled water were provided within the room daily. The house keeping team kept the room clean and well serviced. The pool and beach areas were easily accessible and towels were plentiful and changed as required. The only drawback of the private beach area was the charge for the use of an umbrella. Otherwise, the beach setting, particularly at sunset was incredible. All the staff were friendly, however we would like to particularly mention Steven who greeted us at the reception desk. He was fantastic. He was friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the hotel and resort. From the moment we arrived he helped make our stay pleasurable. He seemed to go above and beyond and always acknowledging us whenever he saw us and making sure everything was ok.
