In the green hills between Umbria and Tuscany in Italy, discover a hidden world dedicated to pleasure and the warmth of an ever-present sun. Here, an ancient patrician villa and its centuries old farmhouses have been converted into a luxurious hotel, offering charm and tranquility together with courtesy and distinction. The Hotel Villa di Monte Solare is nestled in an ancient old olive grove and verdant forest on famed Monte Solare, once home to a sun-worshipping cult during Etruscan times. Today guests of this exclusive retreat can savor the sun and stunning valley views by the pool, relax at the spa, dine at the intimate restaurants, or explore the vineyards, medieval towns and winding country roads that make this part of Italy one if the most beautiful in the world.

This was our first trip to Umbria and we booked Villa Monte Solare to use as a base for three nights (and we could have used more days). I am not sure how we stumbled upon booking this hotel (I think just from researching on the internet), but it was even more beautiful than we expected. We received a very warm and sincere welcome from Giorgia who assigned us an absolutely lovey room. She was extremely helpful in getting us settled into our room. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the beautifully maintained garden and the entire property was lovely. Sadly, the weather deteriorated after that and it would have been delightful to have breakfast outside each morning in the garden. The view over the valley was spectacular. There was a lovely indoor pool that I am sorry that we never had a chance to use since we were very busy touring this new part of Italy for us. The beds, linens and pillows were very comfortable and of fine quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day.

My husband and I were married at this venue September 6, 2023. When I tell you that this location has the best staff we have EVER encountered, I couldn't be more serious. They bent over backwards to ensure that our wedding went off without a hitch. Their smiles and warm faces every morning, and the genuine willingness to help did not go unnoticed. They essentially became alternate wedding guests (in the BEST way possible!!!) Alessio, from the beginning of our planning stages- was there for us and did not make us feel like an inconvenience. The property is large in scale, yet somehow you feel like you're visiting a family home. Don't even get me started on the food. More than one guest told us that the gnocchi changed their life- myself included. I can safely say, it was the best meal I have ever had. There is truly not one bad thing to say about Villa Monte Solare. If you are on the fence about having them as a part of your wedding, anniversary, or just a vacation.. let this be your sign... DO IT. they are perfection. In every way.

We celebrated our daughter's wedding with friend's and family, 32 in total, at Villa Monte Solare. There are no words to express how perfect it was. The serving staff went above and beyond at every opportunity... they even went so far as to build a dance floor on the grounds. It was an epic experience that will live in our memories forever. The spa was amazing, the food was outstanding and the views, breathtaking. I would highly recommend this place as a destination for anyone. Thank you to all the staff... it was perfect.

Spent a few days at this wonderful property as part of a 2 week vacation. A very beautiful property with tons of character. Our room was a 2 room suite to accommodate our family of 4, well appointed with a good sized bathroom. There are 2 pools on the property, both a good size and not crowded, both with scenic views. There is a spa on site which looked nice but we didn’t have a chance to use as there is so much to see and do in the area. Lovely restaurant which served breakfast daily as well as dinner - we ate there twice for dinner and enjoyed both meals. Excellent service all around. Central to a number of cities - we easily traveled to Perugia, Orvieto and Assisi. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

This was our 3rd and longest stay, 7 days, and we again rave about this place and its staff. We sought quiet and a quality room during a heat wave and this place did not disappoint. The staff are highly professional and friendly. We most appreciated Emiliano, Allisario, Elia, and Stephany in the restaurant and bar, and Mariasophia and Giorgio at the front desk! An example of the extent of efforts for satisfaction: we checked in and found that one of the two air conditioners in the room was not working; we reported this to the front desk on the way to lunch and when we returned to the room an hour later, the entire a/c unit had been replaced! The setting is lovely - green hills, orchards, and vineyards lay out in every direction. Truly peaceful and we will return.

In June we had a wonderful time in Italy staying at Villa Monte Solare - it exceeded our expectations both for the wonderful food and the exquisite furnishings, let alone the endless courtesies of the owners, Signore and Signora Iannarone. We felt as if we were guests in their home. We have and would recommend the villa to anyone interested in exploring Umbria while staying in a luxurious country estate.
