There is a new pride and spirit since Philip Anschutz purchased the property in 2011. While the excellent management team from the Gaylord era is still in place, (as someone who has stayed here for almost 40 years) I can see that the facilities and service continue to improve. I urge anyone coming to Colorado for any reason to make a side trip to Colorado Springs to spend at least one night at the Broadmoor. You will experience well-appointed rooms, tasteful shopping, an assortment of dining venues, and best of all beautiful grounds for walking. Yes - I have pride in my state and this special place. I feel lucky to be able to drive from Denver and stay here whenever I want. Also, my daughter was married here so it holds a special place in my heart as well. A few tips: 1. Room location - you have many choices. The main building has charm. The West Building has lovely newly renovated rooms. The West Tower will eventually have a make-over, I think. I actually like the old. large classical rooms in the West Tower. The newer South Tower is very close to most facilities and is in the same building as the Penrose Dining Room. We have stayed once in one of the lakefront suites - truly an experience! 2. Take time to walk around the grounds. A visit to the main floor of the West Tower to see all the photos of dignitaries, sports starts, and celebrities who have stayed at The Broadmoor is a MUST. If you have an evening, go the Golden Bee for the atmosphere and the sing-alongs. 3. Shopping is not extensive but high quality. The shoe store and the jewelry store have a long tradition on this property. 4. Sunday Brunch at the Broadmoor is SPECIAL. Just be aware that the price goes up on holidays. 5. The ownership has many excursions off the property. These have changed over the years, but you should check these out if you want to venture into the foothills surrounding this area or do something special like fly-fishing, just to mention a fe options. 6. Be aware that the resort has adopted a European flavor. There is a 20% service charge at all bars and restaurants; so, you only tip above that if you feel service was extra-ordinary.

I was most fortunate to stay at this resort in conjunction with a business trip. It is breathtakingly beautiful and the amenities and service are exceptional. My room was stunning - I felt like a princess! Morning walks were delightful. There are lovely rooms with fireplaces and fountains where you can just sit and relax - amazingly charming and enjoyable. Outdoor areas include fire pits for warmth and incredible views of the Rocky Mountains. It is not inexpensive, but if you have a special event or want to just really treat yourself, this is definitely a location to consider.

We stayed in the South Tower this time. It was truly beautiful! Top floor overlooking the 'lake'. We had a wonderful lunch and cocktails in the bar on Saturday, on Sunday had anther wonderful lunch and bubbles in the Bar again! This is far and away my favorite hotel in the world! If I had one bit of advice it's to make sure you put staying at the Broadmoor on your Bucket List!

Celebrated our parents' 40th wedding anniversary with a weekend at the Broadmoor - lovely stay at the hotel, beautiful rooms, exceptional service and memorable dining experiences. The service, decor, live music, ambiance and hospitality at the Penrose Room were excellent, but the food was just good -- not as great as we had expected. Champagne brunch on Sunday was lovely and the chefs were so wonderful in accommodating our child's food allergy that she never felt like she was a burden or very few options. The chefs came out and walked us through the buffet to help us understand what to avoid, and to our surprise there were only 2-4 items out of the entire buffet that she needed to avoid. Apparently they try to plan their menus around known food allergies of guests so as to avoid contamination risk - such service! Thank you Broadmoor staff for a lovely weekend celebrating our parents - the complimentary bottle of bubbly in their room as well as staff signed cards and special treats at each restaurant were a very nice touch!

What's fantastic property - such a great view all around - access to property was restricted with construction Work The staff at reception are outstandingly friendly - what great service levels Maybe it was just our stay timing - but the Hotel lost power supply - that rendered us in pitch dark using stairs (low floor requests are always beneficial) Plus a really really Cold water shower (no water heaters due to electric supply issue) that had us chattering till afternoon making this stay unforgettable :( Restaurant and bar level service needs a lot of attention Property really does not suit a convention setup as is too spread out Rooms are pretty basic - internet speed is good but in room amenities could improve a bit
