About the Hotel

Striking a perfect balance between the natural beauty of the lake, viewed from a splendid terrace, and the vibrant life of the city, the Terminus is the ideal hotel for those who don't want to miss any of the many unforgettable experiences that Como has to offer. Born out of a complete restructuring of an early 19th century Italian landmark, this waterfront hotel on the shores of Lake Como boasts composite Liberty-style architecture and the noble design characteristics of the Lombard aristocracy. Verdant, climbing moss ascends the main building, while manicured lawns and lush shrubbery border walkways and paths, inspiring visions of Old World affluence. Sophisticated and traditional indoors as well as out, Albergo Terminus arouses tranquility with classic marble, plush furnishings, and dark, mahogany woodwork. From intimate Standard Rooms to the palatial Penthouse Suite, every level of accommodation has its own unique comforts and distinctive design, but all share the same extraordinary amenities, including satellite color television, the finest Italian silks, and opulent bedding. Stretched across a destination flocked to by the American elite and European gentry, your stay at Albergo Terminus is the start of an exquisite escape.

Good quaint hotel right on the lake

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had some trouble finding really fantastic hotels in Come and this one was very nice but not stellar. The location is good, right on the lake, easy access to the town and restaurants. The outside area is lovely. They have a very pretty bar/restaurant with cut lights. We had dinner there and enjoyed it. The rest of the hotel is historic so a bit weird. There are a bunch of winding hallways which are confusing. The corridors are tight and stuffy. The rooms were fine but not huge and not super modern. It was a good experience but the rooms could be a bit freshened up and modernized.

Could be better

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

For context we have spent 2 nights in Verona and 2 nights in Garda both hotels different price ranges but equally outstanding from welcome drinks to extra water as there is a heatwave on! Sadly this hotel is not quite hitting the mark . The staff are lovely but have restrictions. Breakfast was ok but the eggs looked like they had been there far too long . I asked for fresh eggs , poached . Waiter said he would have to charge extra for poached ! Seriously at nearly 500 euros a night this is just not ok. No tea or coffee in room. 1 bottle of water and you have to pay 6 euros from the mini bar if you want more ..... Shame as it is in a lovely location but there are better options out there ......

The location can't be beat!

The location is perfect, close to everything in Como! We were here for three nights and enjoyed our stay. The rooms and beds were comfortable. We stayed in a Superior Double, did not have a view of the lake. We were not in our room very much so having the view did not impact our stay here. Note however that there is an alley in back of the hotel where you do occasionally here the trash being tossed (bottles). The breakfast was really good (just also mentioning that they do have birds who like to enjoy the garden area and we would like to try to hop on your table here and there). We had a drink outside on the terrace, Ricardo was a great help to us recommending drinks, restaurants, etc.

Lovely Hotel, Great Staff

Lovely hotel, staff went above and beyond! Make sure you do not get a room at the back of the Hotel. Its really noisy with the bins being collected, this went on for all hours the first night. The Hotel kindly let me change rooms to the front of the Hotel for the rest of my stay which was really quiet.

The Albergo Terminus is a special place. Managed by the incredibly warm Cristina Zucchi, her outstanding staff takes great pride in looking after guests, and they are incredibly helpful from check-in to departure...
The Terminus is decorated with lively colors and prized fabrics made from the finest of Lake Como silk. The hotel offers fantastic views of Lake Como, and its location in front of the town makes it easy for you to walk around and explore everything.
If you come to this region looking for George Clooney and his famous villa along Lake Como, the Albergo Terminus will not disappoint.
The hotel's popular Bar delle Terme, a café restaurant with seating for just 20 people inside plus a beautiful outdoor terrace which is popular with the locals, is managed by THE George Clooney look alike, Maurizio, who is happy to pose for pictures with guests.
