From intimate Standard Rooms to the palatial Penthouse Suite, every level of accommodation has its own unique comforts and distinctive design, but all share the same extraordinary amenities, including satellite color television, the finest Italian silks, and opulent bedding. Stretched across a destination flocked to by the American elite and European gentry, your stay at Albergo Terminus is the start of an exquisite escape.

At Albergo Terminus the quality of your experience is key: five-star dining, a superlative wellness program, and the surrounding community enhance every aspect of your stay. The property's fitness facilities include a gym area with top-of-the-line equipment, and quaint sauna and massage area where reflexology, and traditional relaxation techniques are employed to rejuvenate and restore. Situated in the heart of Como, Albergo Terminus is a short distance from Roman, medieval, and modern monuments, including Museo Archeologica, the world-renowned archaeological museum, and Museo Storico Garibaldi, a museum dedicated to General Giuseppe Garibaldi. Less than a half-mile from the hotel, the Ferrovie Nord Milano Railway Station whisks you off to bustling Milan for a day amidst the beauty of one of the largest cities in the province. Very small rooms, not much bigger than a closet, front desk staffed with interns so while friendly, not that helpful. Great location in Como, the breakfast was ok, but the breakfast service was great, ask for eggs, but you pay extra for them, sit outside if possible. I wouldn't stay here again if I came back to Como, Belagio is much better.

We spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. It is reachable by a short taxi ride from Como S. Giovanni train station. Situated in a perfect location across the lake, and a two minute walk to the Ferry and center square. Como is a beautiful town with amazing views. The room we were assigned did not have a view, so Claudia was very kind to offer us an alternative. We chose a smaller room but with a lake view. The hotel is beautiful and breakfast is wonderful. Bed is cozy and shower is very nice.

Unlike many who reviewed this hotel, we got lucky with a nice room with a balcony view of the lake. The complimentary breakfast was good and that staff was so nice and charming. The front desk staff was anything but helpful. They were quite off-putting. The dining room and outdoor bar staff was so awful we chose not to dine there. We wanted a place to sit outside and perhaps order something to drink and we received only a dinner menu. We were directed by the front desk to sit in a dismal back area in a courtyard. The maitre'd looked angry that we were sitting there and yelled at one of the waiters in front of us. He was rude and unkind. Although the room was fine, the hotel is dated and the carpeting and furniture are dingy and old. Overall, in spite of a nice view from our balcony, we were very disappointed.

Fantastic people, beautiful hotel and the best dining in Como. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Besides the beautiful hotel itself, the secret is the food. You can't dine here if you don't stay here so don't miss the opportunity.

Staying here as a couple for several days, we had a nice time in Como. The staff was very welcoming and warm, always helpful and zealous. The hotel is situated nicely by the lake, right next to some touristy locations. We had a room to the lake side (lake view). The room was very small and a bit too loud. There's the hotel restaurant and bar on this side, and piano music plays till the late hours, and traffic on the main street starts early. Sadly, the hotel has bad windows, so this side of the hotel is nothing for folks with a light sleep - which was not a big problem for us, so we stayed in that room. The room was always clean and the bath room (equipped with shower, bidet, basin, hair dryer) was surprisingly large and modern. The breakfast was nice with a selection of bread, cold cuts, cheese and sweets, but we found it confusing to get served some sort of barley coffee first (actually a mix from coffee and barley coffee as we were explained), when there was actual coffee (espresso, americano, cappucino etc) available for free upon request. We've seen more exhaustive buffets in other hotels, but we didn't miss anything fundamental. We didn't use any other of the hotel's conveniences, just tried the restaurant and found the service there rude. Too rude to go there twice (we've addressed this in the respective review). The bar is very overpriced - 12€ avg. for a cocktail, 6-7 at the bars just round the corner. My suggestion to the managers: Promote the wonderful lady in the breakfast room to become the restaurant's maitre d', promote one of the zealous pages to the breakfast chef and let the current maitre d' care for the luggage. If he's unfriendly there, the suitcases won't mind too much. And, buy some new windows.
