Beautiful Historic Hotel

The Colonial Inn is a very nice historic hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed. The staff is friendly and helpful. Being such an old hotel, they’ve done an excellent job keeping it up. We’ll definitely visit again.

An American Treasure

The Colonial Inn is a historical gem located on Monument Square. Built in 1716, the Inn oozes history, charm and character as well as having 2 fine restaurants and the incredible original tavern. We stayed in the original section in a 2nd floor large room that overlooked Monument Square. Over its 300+ year old history it has had many uses along with being a hotel and the additions give it its classic atmosphere as you wonder from room to room thru hallways and around its unique architectural features. The Inn was decorated brilliantly for Christmas bringing a real festive feel to the property. We found the dining exceptional with 3 fantastic breakfasts in the reasonable priced Merchants Row dining room. The Village Forge Tavern was outstanding and has to be seen to be believed. It is said that ammunition and provisions were hid here from the British during the Revolutionary War on their march on Concord. The food and atmosphere were so outstanding we visited the Tavern all 3 evenings of our stay. It's a shame they closed at 9pm because we all wanted to stay later. The only other negative was the limited parking and I had to ask if there were other parking areas for the Inn when we had trouble finding a space. I have seen an occasional review of someone complaining about not having a key card, a safe or an elevator, my God the place was built in 1716 it's part of its charm, unload at the front door (they offer to help) or go stay at a Comfort Inn off the interstate. We found the staff to be very friendly and loved the outdoor dining areas that are available in the warmer months. It is also only a block from Concord's fantastic little Main Street full of restaurants and shops. We look forward to a return stay at the Colonial Inn.

I visit hotels often and The Colonial Inn is the best hotel around. The staff are friendly and helpful. The meals are also excellent. It is a clean place. Other reviews must be fake because this place has received many awards.

We left early it’s that bad!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

Loud, hot, dirty room. When I say hot I’m talking 83 and we had to run the ac all night which was awful but don’t worry we could still hear all the traffic and people down stairs. Also rooms are dirty and very poorly updated in the bathroom, what cob job. Biggest problem is how awful the mattress is, with the heat, the noise and the mattress being so awful we did not sleep at all and left early!

Charming Historic Inn

Stayed here in late October when we came for a family wedding. We stayed in the Prescott wing. Room was basic and small but that is to be expected. If you expect it to be at the standard of a modern hotel, you will be disappointed. They have done what they can to modernize including having a desk with multiple outlets for my hair dryer & charging electronics. For me, the downside was a very hard bed & hard pillows. I was pleasantly surprised to go to breakfast & find that most items were quite reasonably priced. Within walking distance to many local attractions. Overall, I would recommend to others.
